I don't understand, saturday practice is $20 on top of the race fee to race the same day? Is there a practice before the racing starts at 2 in the afternoon?

Are you sure you're going to get in 3 20 minute motos over 1 1/2 days of racing?

since it is a new track there is an optional practice 8-12 then the normal event practice starting at 1. the motos are longer than normal but only 450 and 250 A will be 20 mins. hope that helps.

i would never pay for 'practice' on the same day as a race, if im paying to race.

The only way they'll have time for that schedule is to run three 4 lap moto's in each class.

I might be on to something here, but I think it's about who wants to ride the track and get it dialed before the race? I think it's cool in my book. But my opinions matters just as the NC boys. NOT AT ALL.. It's going to happen and is in affect, why put your two cents in if you are from NC and aren't travelling up here to do it. If you were here, I bet you would pay for practice because you would be thinking as i do. But hey, we all have our opinion's.

I could see starting at 2 on Friday, but why start so late on saturday? I'd rather start crack of down saturday and be able to leave earlier sunday.

I won't go to this event, getting out of there at 7 or 8 sunday means I'll be getting home around 2 or 3 am..

i am in NY and am wondering what the reasoning is behind having a practice on sat and then charging for it? I have never seen this. Most of the places that have two day events have a practice on Fri and charge for it and then race all day sat/sun. Just for sake of clarity, if I were to come and didnt want to pay for the sat morning practice, would I then still get a few laps of practice before the motos on sat like most every track does?

Royal Mtn is having a two day event that same weekend and they are not charging for practice. I just dont get this one other than a money grab....

A quote from WNYMA.com in the 8th issue of WNYMA Inside Line says, "We are an association of riders run by the riders. " So it can't be a money grab.

As the promotional staff for Air MX, I hope to clear up the confusion. The Northeast Spring Championship event starts at Saturday at 1:00 with practice. The races then are planned to start at 2. The practice that is listed beforehand is an additional practice so riders can have a greater chance to master the track. We did this to try and balance a big race with requirements for our district. We want to make sure we gave riders the best chance to get to the event.

Going on to explaining this event. The motos will be comparable to Lorettas. The classes are broken down to either 15 minute or 20 minute motos. These breakdowns can be found on the website. There will be a separate track that was part of last years track for the 50 and 60 classes. This track will still be groomed and prepped for the races and will use the same gates. The reason for this is that the MX track is fully groomed and prepped much like a national and by putting those small bikes to another track will satisfy everyone's needs. There will be many give aways, and 5ft trophies for first, 4ft trophies for 2nd, 3ft trophies for 3rd.

tw180, seriously, your calling me out because of where 'i live'? haha thats halarious, because I was born in Cheektowaga, and lived in west seneca\orchard park area for most of my life, and the fact that being in NC has nothing to do with it, and maybe my opinion doesnt matter, but RIDER"s opinions in general do, since they are the ones that keep the money flowing into tracks. so putting all the information that doesnt matter aside...i'll explain why i feel the way i do.

from what i read, this is a new track, so no one knows the layout. ok, i can understand extra practice time, but couldnt that be an incentive for a big turnout on opening day? to offer up all morning practice, included with your race entry? And in doing that they could also offer just practice by itself for those that choose to watch the races. A racer, having to pay twice on the same day he or she is racing, is not good business. Hike the price up a couple bucks if you absolutely need to recoup some of the gas cost for your dozer but asking anyone to pay twice, especially racers, is a kick in the nuts. Especially at a new track? The other option is have a 2-day event. have an all day practice on saturday so guys can get 'dialed' and sunday holding the races. thats what I see at the local level for the bigger events.

I think its GREAT that there is another track opening, and maybe I will just stop by on my next trip home. maybe i'll blow off area 51 in batavia and head that way. just gotta keep me away from the mighty tacos and teds hot dogs.

There is no other place offering 3 motos at longer length for $30. We are offering the cheapest pricing available. We did not want to tie the practice into the event in case people cannot make it there for the morning. We also did this because the practice will be broken down into A, B, C, D, Minis, 50's. If it was tied into the races, people racing more then 1 class would seem to be penalized by paying this fee several times.

Once again this practice from 8-12 is extra and optional. Needless to say with all said and done, if one signs up for a practice and a class, it would be all done for $50. This amount of riding for that is unheard of.

You should do practice friday, racing starts at 9am Sat morning. I don't see how you're going to fit it all in the way it's set up now. Unless you get a small turnout.

Ok well once again. The scheduling is final. This was set up to make it possible for everyone to be able to make it around their work schedule. Much research has been put into the racing schedule, hopefully this will continue to grow. Matt Wozney from MXPTV will be there covering all the footage, so be sure to check that out as well.

Good luck with the race, great to see a new track popping up!

edit: With Insurance, the right equipment, labor, and other expenses I think running a motocross track is a labor of love. Give people who put the effort in a break here…….I doubt anyone is getting rich, and if they are, good for them for giving us a place to ride.

Well I am always happy to see more tracks opening up and new race series being run.

Since I work for a track in NH I know exactly how much work goes into it and I hope it goes well for you guys.
Matter of fact Matt Wozney was at our LL's Qualifier this past weekend and was telling me about this race.

My only question is with this statement;
"The Northeast Spring Championship event starts at Saturday at 1:00 with practice. The races then are planned to start at 2"

How are you guys going to run an open practice till 12, groom the track and then run practice for everyone entered from 1:00pm - 2:00pm?

Unless you have a very low rider turnout practice is going to take at least 90 minutes to 2 hrs.
With a 400 rider turnout we average just about 90 minutes giving all classes 3-4 laps for practice.

Just a thought, like I said I hope it goes well for you guys....just want you to avoid promising folks something that won't be easy to deliver.
