Just saw this thread, epic deal here!

I just ordered a GasGas Trail 3.0 without buying a new bike and it was a sales offer too good to refuse.  Bike is spec'd well and super fun.  I'll keep using my acoustic bike but for training on my own the pedal assist bike just is way more fun, and can cover more ground faster.

Feel like I'm 20 again...

Just picked up this beauty. Gas gas is giving away free mountain bikes (e bike) with purchase of new dirt bike. I paid a few hundred extra to upgrade the mountain bike. Heck of a deal.  My first two stroke in almost 20 years, I missed the smell of premix!

What's the ebike look like?

I think this one the GG Trail 2.0 OR 3.0 they are/were offering.  Online they have good sale deals in Canada anyways.

My guess is GG made a bunch of these but mtb folk have no idea what GG is so the appeal to the moto users is good plus can help gain market share with these deals and sell moto bikes too.

Perhaps this thread should get merged into the "Joined the dark side" thread...haha

Not because of the GG moto bike but eBikes are not universally accepted it seems.  Same goes for Stark's bike.  I think it's all good.

You got this great deal because ktm are planning on stopping the production of gas-gas bikes 🤷‍♀️ they've disbanded the teams and are closing down the factories. Soon there wont be any gas-gas on sale. KTM also stated they won't manufacture parts for their bikes that are older than 4 years old, so eventually getting parts for the older ktms is going to be a nightmare. Lovely bikes though 🤷‍♀️💕

Husqvarna should consider a “buy a bike, get a free chainsaw” promotion

They are completely different companies.

There are enough bikes out there that if there is a demand for parts, the aftermarket will fill it.

I thought there was a Law that required a manufacturer to offer parts for any vehicle they sold for a certain period. A quick google search  did not come up with any laws  nationally . My Duramax I bought in New England has Cali emissions.  If there is a state law , from a state big enough, they may just make it a policy for vehicles nationwide.

CR500 cases and other engine parts have not been available for a while. And now there are aftermarket options.  A lot of KTM parts or Husky Parts  will cross over onto a Gasgas.

Aftermarket companies are making more and more OE replacement type parts these days.  With SXS's You can get aftermarket transmissions , and all kinds of stuff.  OE like replacement parts. As well as higher performance stuff. But there are more and more OE style replacement parts from  aftermarket companies these days. If there is a demand, there will not be a problem finding parts for too long.

Yeah, they ddisbanded the teams over here in Britian and the European world series. They've closed most of the factories. It's a shame, they're really great bikes!

Yeah, it's more the waiting time for parts for the older machines. My friend had to wait two months to get a part shipped over for his ktm 250 2018. I also race classic bikes so I know the struggle of finding parts, so it's more of a forewarning to everyone 🤷‍♀️. Not really sure what's going on with KTM atm maybe got their fingers in to many pies 🤷‍♀️ it's a shame really, they are great bikes!

Probably the age old thing. A company performs incredibly well for a period of time, and investors expect that performance all the time.

Too many M&A:s, too much spending, one dip in the market place and the leadership is forced to cutting down costs rapidly and finding ways of keeping the proditability high.

PIERER Mobility AG stock is down 65% the last year. They are all time low at the moment. That will result in massive changes, lets buckle up.

They have had issues with parts for newer bikes too. A customer of mine sold his 300Sx because there were no parts around to fix it and he was afraid that it would break and be sitting for a longtime.  I waited almost a year ! for the orange plastic kit I got for him from KTM powerparts. We ended up using UFO plastic instead . And it was about 10 or 11 months  after I placed my order that the plastic finally came in.

For a while there were issues with supply for a lot of stuff. That seems to be mostly fixed now. The demand has gone back to a more predictable level so its easier to keep stuff in stock.

Yamaha should consider: "Buy a new YZ250 and get a PW50 for half price"

I have a 2 year old and I'd do that deal in a second, if they offered lol. Been searching for a way to add a new 250 2stroke to the garage.
