I have the same problem ..
Someone know if the 250 wire fit ?
Rick can you sell it ?
Thank a lot
Other pic is finished adjustment, it might be a bit off. 12mm using a sag scale for measuring. I always have to take the valves apart, 1 time to get rid of binding.
Did you ever find cables ? I nneed some for my 04 125
No I didn’t find any pv cables but I wasn’t looking much either. I wish the other guy would say what yr cr250 . A cr250 expert could chime in and say if the yrs of cr250 cables r the same or something. I tried to send you a pm but pm,s don’t work.i had the pv shaft out a un seen metal bur was inside. I had a metal bur in the 1st hole on the cylinder that the pv shaft goes threw. I ended up cracking the exhaust port bridge, forcing it in. I had 2 screw drivers holding the pv flaps off the bridge. I drove my cylinder down to Millennium. They said they didn’t know how the metal burs get inside on there own but they do. I took a dremel & very carefully rounded the hole out a tiny bit. Like the thickness of paper. I take white diamond alum polish with a scotch bright pad to the rollers on the pv shaft. Then use a rag and polish the rollers more. The rollers r the only thing that makes contact to the cylinder. The pv operates Super smooth now. Use the Hrc method that team Honda used on the cr250 on the 04 cr125. I,m sure the bike would run diff . But if your dying to ride. Try holding the pv flaps open with a socket. Then over tighten the nut or wire the piece that the cables go on to something. Maybe under the cylinder base nut or ? To hold it open/ the pv valves in a open position. It should hv good upper mid and topend power then. I,m sure the bottom would b gone. It will probably hv a real bad big too. The 04 was the spec carting ent for yrs. They always plugged the pv to stay open. So it’s nothing new.
Use the 13 mm socket with a couple wraps of electrical tape . Inside the exhaust port to keep the pv flaps open. Difficult but you can get your finger in there to feel the that the flaps r even with the top of the exhaust port. The flaps can go farther up but you don’t want that . You want them even. I always wanted to try to plug it open. And delete the cables. I,m sure it would b dead then hit at a later rpm then scream threw the topend.
2002-2004 cables have the same part number...
2005-2007 cables have a different part number...
They look identical!
Is that relative to the 250?? everywhere ive searched online says the 250 cables have a different amount of freeplay .
I have my cable here would be nice if someone here who had a cr250 could measure theirs so we could compare ... I bought a mountain bike cable kit; I'm going to try to make it. if that does not work, i will contact motion pro.
2002-2007 CR250 front cable #14340-KZ3-L20 is 273mm between barrel centers on the end of the cable, and 194mm from end of the ferrule to end of the thread on outer sleeve.
2005-2007 CR250 rear cable # 14330-KSK-730 is 266mm between barrel centers on the end of the cable, and 193mm from end of the ferrule to end of the thread on outer sleeve.
I don't know the dimension of the 2002-2004 CR250 rear cable #14330-KZ3-L20
If you dont mind me asking , where do you get the specs on the cables at ?
I hAve a guy who ins a 2004 125 , and a 2004 250 he pulled the cable off the 125 and compared it to the 250 said it was the same for the rear cable that is the one in question
Pit Row
Also , a guy reached out to me who owns a 2004 125 and 250 . He sent me a video of the cable comparison . They are the same .
I measured my spare cables!
2004 cr250 cable , beside it is the 2004 cr125 cable . They have diff part numbers but are the same.
Hope this helps anyone in need!
If you can’t find them online look up some Honda dealers. Maybe one has some laying on the shelf. My dealer is usually pretty good about having NOS
