Best Vet Class to Race at Lorettas

Over 40 practice times from the ranch look like this..

Brown 1:54, Short 1:56, Gibson 1:59, Emig 2:00

Nothing really on the line, its not like the pro's where its timed qualifying. Just some Over 40 Vets dudes getting the track dialed in. Brown has been there a bunch of years and knows the track inside and out. Shorty hasn't been for over 20 years. While I think Shorty is capable of faster lap times than Brown in the race, I'm pretty sure Brown's fitness level is stronger. We shall see! 

Over 25 is usually pretty good too. Over 30 is a Sportsman Class so no Former Pro's that have ever scored a pro point are allowed. Race action there is pretty close from top to bottom.

30+ and 45+ and sportsman’s classes and do now allow any pros in who have scored a pro point. 

This doesn’t not mean no formers pros.

I raced against a guy who got 21st(before this year so no points) in a national moto. He was eligible to race 30+ even tho he raced many nationals and supercross races. 

Your simple answer is none of them.  They all allow pros of some level.  There is not a single amateur vet class at the amateur national.

Thx Melicar. I'll have more words when needed. Was going to have to deal with this exact matter at Lorettas this year after winning 45+ and 50 + regional. The prize for that is dealing with Mike Brown and Jeff Emig. We saw what that llooks lIke today

Mechanicals very common, with that said, I think LL is a giant waste of money just for us Vet riders to go have fun.

Another "which national championship class can I enter that excludes as many people faster than me from entering?" post. If you're digging so deep that you want to exclude anyone who ever had a pro card, competition isn't for you. No points is plenty fine of a rule.

They are all Vet A classes. I doubt you will find any past winners that are not A or pro riders in the eyes of the AMA. Go ride Vet Fest at Red Bud or the High Point Vet Homecoming for a true vet national with varied skill levels.

And.....everyone can pretty much find a second class to race.  So.....4 motos in one day then we can go back home and still have our Saturday night.  The competition at these can be fierce.....

^Exactly! You get to have a fun time at a big race and say you lined up with Mike Brown and Jeff Emig. Let's face it, the classes are tough at that race. If you even qualify, that's like a win. 

Sorry if I came off too harsh, there's been some people in here before screaming about how unfair it is that they have to race someone who had a pro card once but never scored a point. It's fair question to ask, and I say all this as a vet B rider. 

The reason I say not allowing any former pro card holder is too much, is I think some people don't realize just how many people have been able to get their card to try their hand at the local national just to get the experience. Not sure how many races I've ever been to where there isn't someone in a vet A class that's had their pro card.

Lol! Nope. Not getting into it other than this suggestion ill always share as i believe it to be pretty solid. Its an mx sports problem, not a rider problem.

+25 Vet Pro - all who have made fast 40 since introduction of stat keeping.

All other vet classes - those who have never made fast 40 (sx or mx)

Pro license as a bench mark is NOT the answer as they gave them out like candy in the 90s and early 2000s. 

My above suggestion keeps the ex big dogs coming for show, and gives mortals a fair amature playing field where professional skill sets have not been built and honed. 

Race 2 classes and don't duck the fast guys
