Assuming you participate in the gay and lesbian community, meaning you have friends other than your significant other. Can you explain to me how and why the gay and lesbian community let the Trans movement suck all their oxygen? In my lifetime, I've seen the progress of the gay and lesbian community, and it sure seems like your moving backwards. I don't get it.

I actually thought this topic stayed pretty civil. Unlike many of the threads in moto.

It’s a good question and I can’t say I get it either. L, G and B are sexualities, and T is gender. They’re not related. The only connecting thread is that sexuality gets more complicated to label if you’re someone like a trans-man who prefers women. Does that make you a straight man? 🤷
I have a couple of trans friends and have had lots of conversations with trans people. Many of them put less thought into all of it than I just did. They just want to live, love, dress and use the bathroom in the way that feels most natural to them.
I think a lot of straight, white, male politicians have blown it all out of proportion. They, plus a very small, very loud group of trans people like Lia Thomas, have damaged how the community is viewed. These are the people I think are sucking more than their share of oxygen.
Do you think their influence has created pushback against the rest of the letters, though? I don’t think I agree with that.
Ralph's "coming out" is purposeful in a way that it may help some who are still in the stone age accept other's lifestyles different from theirs. But it is a perilous slope Ralph is on. Human beings are multi-faceted, unlike any other being on this planet. We are more than what we are made of and do. To define yourself simply by your sexuality is as dangerous as defining yourself by your career, your favorite meal, or where you live. It would be a shame if Ralph becomes the "Gay" Schumacher, rather than everything else he is as well.

Others may also judge them on their actions and beliefs and think that they are a homophobic flog. Or is criticism only able to go one way?
How strong is someone’s moral compass if they are spending their time on silly Internet forums criticizing someone they have never met or interacted with, just because they want to sleep with someone of the same sex?
In my opinion, as long as you aren’t hurting anyone else, then have at it. I couldn’t give a toss, as long as it ain’t mandatory.
It’s kind of funny, because you are right, the left aren’t very tolerant of people with different views but conservatives are no better. So maybe it’s not a left/right thing, maybe it’s a “people thing”
It’s a sad and pathetic cycle the world is in at the moment. And apparently it always comes back to left vs right.
