Is anyone running a pro circuit throttle tube (TB04) on their 2023+ YZ450F?

I have one sitting around at home and Pro circuit says it fits 03-23 models but looking at the ODI chart there are different throttle cams from around 2014.

I prefer non lock-on grips and do like a sturdy throttle tube so before I go out and buy an updated one, I just wanted to check!

I've begun ordering 2025 YZ450F parts for my 2024. First thing I ordered was the new front engine mounts. Mostly because they are the cheapest thing on the list of new items at around 27 -30 bucks a pop. Testing the waters to see whenever they actually arrive to, once they do I can begin ordering the rest of the stuff. The new mounts seem to be a single solid mount vs the current 2023-2024 two piece mount.

I'll let you know when they arrive and if any changes are obvious.

Personally, but like top mounts FCP and front I keep stock.

I think the best change on my bike was the 24mm Luxon clamps and bar mounts.  You could also do the FCP head angle adjuster and keep stock clamps.

It’s a give and take, I feel like the softer clamps help for lean traction and stability. The head angle adjuster will make the bike more stable than clamps but don’t gain lean angle.

ML even suggested 22mm clamp and headcup adjustment.

Im definitely dying for some more front end feel. My 2024 KX450x absolutely spoils me in that aspect. I know the traction is there on the Yammie but the bike isn't telling me it is. I was looking at the OEM options currently because its so much cheaper for now. I was looking at the FCP mounts and race cups, as well as Luxon clamps its just very pricy for me currently.

I have fcp mounts I’m not using. I’ll sell them for 325

Thank you, but I'm wanting to experiment with the 2025 stuff first. I'm very curious if itll make any significant difference

Found a suggestion on fb to keep the gas cap vent hose from kinking... Take a pair of side cuts and snip the nipple coming out of the cap flush with the cap. Hose still seats fine and the kink is gone.

I noticed on starts that when i bring the RPM up before the card goes sideways, the clutch feels grabby/gurgly/jumpy. Doesn't seem to hinder my starts, just feels weird. Will a hinson set up change this feel?

Still motoring along stock. 7 hours on my new one. Surpassed the kx i had already lol. Rode a MidEastGP which was a 30 min moto half woods half moto. Woods she was a little stiff but man i love this bike..

My Hinson isn’t grabby or jumpy.  I have works connection lever/perch also.  Could it be your fibers are fried?

Its had only like 5 hours on it my first gate drop. I noticed this on my 23 too. I dont think theyre gone just yet. You have the full hinson set up i assume? When my plates do go ill likely add some hinson components.

Yeah full kit. What oil are you using, could that be a possible issue?

Yamalube. Have some maxima premium i could switch to. I had issues on my hondas running synthetic, so ive stayed sway since then and continued to use non syn in everything.

I assume the Yamaha test guys ride Yamahlube, but could be worth trying something else and seeing if the problem keeps happening.

There was a decent list of the "essential" mods somewhere within the 71 pages

Has anyone got an updated list of the right tweaks to the stock bike?

Got my new '24 450 coming tomorrow Smile

Step 1: Add your favorite grips and adjust bars and levers to your liking and then ride it stock with base settings for a few hours before changing anything.

Step 2: Adjust as necessary only after knowing what the bike has been designed to do

I switched from Moto 300 V, which I’ve run and virtually everything for the last 20 years, to maxima SAE on the recommendation of Hinson (im running Hinson clutch pack, stiffer pressure spring and inner hub).

I’m a little worried about the plane bearings in the crank with SAE oil, but I change it every four or five hours and the clutch seems to be running less hot than it did with the full synthetic.

If you have a sponsorship with Hinson, you also get a discount on that oil.

Hope this helps.

I have a Works Connection perch and Honda lever if anyone wants it. Stock perch and lever work much better for me.

I would again strongly suggest riding the bike stock for a good bit before making any changes. It works extremely well in stock trim

Judging from the updated clutch for 25 I’d say it’s more an inner hub issue. Ever since I put in the full rekluse my oil barely gets dirty compared to the oem clutch. Oil flow is key.

Might be.  I kept running 300v with the Hinson clutch pack, but changed to SAE oil when I put the Hinson inner hub in, so it definitely could have been the added oil flow.  Hinson inner hub has LOTS more holes and reliefs for oil.

I’d also recommend the stiffer spring if you ride off road or are hard on clutches. To me that made a noticeable difference.

I bought the stiffer hinson spring but I wasnt sure how it would work with the rekluse. I’m going to test it soon. Stock clutch with rekluse plates they were black in 10hrs for me.

Anyone tried drilling out stock hub to increase oil flow?

One of my 2025 front engine mounts came in and that boy is thick, and weighty. Surprisingly heavy.  Here is the difference betweem 2024 and 2025 front engine mounts. Wont be able to test if theres a significant difference this weekend unless the other randomly arrives early. Rear linkage has already been ordered, that'll definitely make a huge difference when installed. I'll keep you posted. 1000004794 0
