Hey ML...here's a potential content idea for you.
At each national track do an up close of the tractor(s) and ground prep implement(s) they use to work the track. Compare and contrast from week to week. Do a short 10 minute interview with somebody who is either in charge of track prep or who is running the equipment what their track prep theory is. Also ask whether what they do is influenced by Mxsports or any other influencer.
Rip, deep till, shallow till, disc, spring tooth, etc, etc. Just ask some basic questions to educate the loyal Vital followers and show the equipment in action so we get a visual.
10 minutes worth of content could really say a lot.
Wholeheartedly agree...
Millville would be a good one to start these with because they just bought a new tractor.

I would possibly sponsor the segment.
I wouldn't mind this either. It would be cool to see some more behind the scenes action.

I bring this up mainly because of this whole "do I run the scoop tire or a regular tire" question. As we saw in moto 2 at Red Budd, Hunter didn't run the scoop and the team has admitted they made a mistake as his start suffered.
Most everybody runs the scoop because of the tilled start straight. Well, how deep is it tilled? Why is it tilled at all? Why not scrape it flat or roll it so its more hard pack? Whats the thought process with what seems to always deep tilling the start straight?
Then there is the whole "rut-cross" debate. Deep till makes ruts, shallow till opens the turns up more. Some riders prefer one style over the other.
I wish they would better prep the tracks during intermission. Knee deep ruts and waist deep breaking bumps do nothing but slow down the riders. Fans pay good money to see these guys wick it up so give them a highway.
Assume they rip the start deep to keep speeds down 🤷♂️
This is a solid idea that wouldn’t take much time to produce!
Completely disagree, the ability maintain good lap times on a hammered track is exactly what separates the elite riders from the rest. Yeah they need to do track prep but knocking everything flat means everyone is doing the same lines in the same way which is very boring to watch.
Watching Chance launch that braking bump halfway down the hill or watching Sexton pop over stuff like Jett is amazing to the fan who knows what they are looking at
Anton must have read my thread. There's a good 3 minutes of video showing track prep at Millville near the beginning of this video.
That snow plow looking thing with the movable wings is pretty trick.

Whilst allowing use of metal start grates and Holeshot lowering devices.
makes sense.
It's not fun either to watch sexton check out after half the race.
Screw difficult tracks, we want to see good racing. Not rider spaced out 10 sec apart because they don't want to push and risk crossruting or high side (as Hunter did).
Best possible finish is 5 riders within 5-10sec with 10min left.
250 race 1 was good in that way but it is to much spacing in 450 class. Boring to see 3 riders mix it up and the other not wanting to push.
Never saw a snowcat with a perfecta used before.
Seems like some forget that professional motocross is about entertainment. For others, it has to be this most extreme harsh conditions to navigate to prove they're speed on a track that looks like the surface of the moon. The leader winning by half a minute is good..... (boring AF)
Leave the start straight hard as concrete!
All track need that snow plow tractor
Why, you can’t push anything but loose material with it. The blade does not have structural integrity and it don’t have enough ass like a dozer.
