Got the CUO setup for my 24 450 SXF. I was mainly looking for less engine braking and it did that very well for the price tag. The remapped Vortex on my 350 made a bigger impact over stock compared to the 450 + CUO, but is 20% of the price vs a new unit, and gives maybe 75% of the benefit. Haven’t played with the throttle response yet, but I don’t really need more on this one.
Side note: the suspension clicker and pressure recommendations from the app were actually pretty good. Better than the stock clicker settings for sure.
I have a vortex mapped for 23+ 450 that I am gonna sell.
My unit show is up today, I have a new 24 450, not ridden it yet but can't imagine it's any different to my 23. Already bolted up my akro pipe and won't run the stock 51 sprocket, 50 smoothed out the 23.
I didn't see the suspension part, how much weight does the riding gear add?
Fwiw, at 220lbs, the 23 was the first shock I've never had to revalve

Thanks, I guessed at 10kg for gear also.
Not to de-rail this thread, but A. How big are you? B what skill group are you or what class do you ride? C. How much easier is it for a 23+ 350 to hold a rut/turn VS. A 450? I've been trying to make up my mind on a 350, but I'm afraid I'll miss the power of my MC 450. Also thanks for the info so far on the CUO, definitely thinking of getting one whether it be on a new 350 or 450.
Im 90-95kg and ride a faster vet B speed. I just find everything a little easier to do on the 350 vs the 450, with ruts and corners being the biggest difference. It's not night and day and is less noticeable when track is smooth and you have energy. But when the track gets beat and your worn out things like getting to that inside line or staying in that challenging rut become alot easier on the 350 and you can keep your flow for alot longer. If your willing not to be one of those lazy 450 riders then the 350 is a no brainer.
If you have a 350 and are contemplating getting the CUO to get more out of the bike I honestly wouldn't bother. If you want to lose a bit of engine braking or want the litpro feature then I'd say go for it.
I loved my XPR Vortex on my 21 350 and really was hopeful that the CUO would have more effect, I was really intrigued with the less engine braking function… Guess i’ll be going Vortex for my 25!
If it's just less engine braking your after then that was reasonably noticeable with the CUO. I didn't notice it much in slow 1st/2nd gear stuff but chopping throttle hard on fast sections in 3rd and 4th the bike almost free-wheeled compared to stock.
awesome thanks for the info, i’ll give it some thought on how i want to go. Just the CUO without the litpro thing on the fender is 189 bucks so it might be worth trying first! I really liked XPRs aggressive map on the vortex, i’m 220 pounds and it would pull me in third around corners and lift the front up coming out of turns … it was so good!
I must be the odd one out, I had an xpr mapped vortex for my 22 350sxf and wasn't very impressed with it. It definitely made more of a difference than the CUO does on my 23 but I was a bit disappointed. Had multiple friends also ride it back to back with stock ecu and none of them were overly impressed by it either.
What year and model 350?
Hey everyone, what are you doing to setup the rider tracking? Ever time I try and sign up, it only wants to go through Google wallet and doesn't direct to a formal website.
Thanks
21 350 SXF… it’s the one i’m riding in my profile pic.
I ran Map 3 on the vortex which I was told was Chads “best map” and when i ran it back to back to my OEM ECU it was night and day difference, like banana in the tail pipe or rag in the air box different. To be honest my biggest regret was not trying the other maps on the vortex before i sold it last year.
Hey Erik, any updates on your 450 settings?
All i did was set engine braking as low as possible... haven't messed with anything else yet.
Just rode my 24 for the first timethid weekend
What was your experience after your ride? Did you find the reduced engine braking noticeably better?
Not correct way to do it, but I setup low engine braking before 1st ride.

Darn. Would be nice to hear how effective the CUO actually is in changing the engine braking. I am still debating whether I want to try the CUO or not. My current Vortex is not compatible with the new KTM's so I will lose the map switch functionality. I really do not want to spend another thousand plus to purchase what I basically already have, but not sure I want to give up having the map switch available.
On my 350 the reduced engine braking was the most noticeable part. The more aggressive throttle response not so much. Also got the litpro part setup, I guess some people might find it pretty cool but i think it's a bit of a gimmick.
No changes since last outing. I did test in the backyard with max engine braking and minimum engine braking. With max setting on engine braking and min throttle response it felt like an old XR400.
I can't get the jump functionality to work either...anybody else having this issue?
Is anybody else getting ANY jump data?
I love the lap-timing functionality. It was the main reason I ordered the Factory edition...I was really happy with my 22 SXF450 but am blown away by the 24.5!
I updated the firmware in mine to 2.5.14 and that fixed the jump issue.
I am getting jump data but seem to have a lot of air time for racing a hare scramble. I assume it is reading steep downhills as jumps...My Iphone will no longer connect to the CUO either. An Android phone still will though.
For some reason I can no longer upload maps.
Bizarre, was able to setup the litpro and heart rate monitor..
Try rebooting everything by disconnecting your battery for a minute. When I connected my heart rate monitor it caused the CUO to lock up and that was the only way I could fix it. That was on the old firmware though. I haven’t tried it with the latest firmware.
I tried that and tried uninstaling the app and nada.... still won't upload a new map, so I am stuck with stock and low engine braking. Really annoying.
I think it might be because I updated firmware?
Used the litpro for first time, forgot my heart rate strap, so I'll play with it a bit more.
Typical ktm, really cool and advanced but the end user is the beta tester....they work for some and others just get a whole bunch of gremlins.
Android or Iphone?
Android
If you remove it does the mapping stay or does it go back to default? Like could you share one unit between bikes
Post a reply to: Anyone tried the ktm connectivity unit on 23 or newer?
