Nice shout to Tim, he is criminally underrated.  Four time MXGP champion and working on a fifth, plus he has a MX2 title.

Lots of great lists here. The one rider I'm surprised isn't on more of them (1 from what I saw) is Hannah. He was tough and was the best guy out there before he smashed up his leg - though he did have a few notable performances after (e.g. 1987 MXON at Unadilla).

I have to believe that many on the forum were not around to see him ride in person. He is easily one of the greats on any list you want to cook up.

I put Mr 125 on there . That’s what they called him. His dad built stock car chassis’s in Mo. I,m sure they went to the clay oval races, Very hardcore. Probably why Emig had superior race craft. At 96 redbud I hv cam Corder vid of him landing in the corner of the double double & turning quicker then you can blink. With the stacked pack on him. I got a large rock to the side of my head. My Oakley s flew off to who knows where. Emig and Everts - was really on. Had great races on 125,s in the des nations. Remember the pic of Jeff dragging the bars standing up in the sand ? Best pic ever. And that’s how you ride a motorcycle

My Dad knew Gary out in California and helped him with his cars. I had been to his shop in Missouri a few times a long time ago.
This is an old picture of my Dad with Gary and some one else. Sorry about the orientation.

I was struggling regarding wether to put Herlings in the list or not. But i went with Gajser. It is really, really difficult to leave Herlings out of a list like this.

Since there is proof in titles and win records i guess we are doing this based on emotions.

Then we have a mix of riders with huge records and some riders that not stacked up titles but at any given day could be the fastest in the world.

1. RC - The records speak for them self.

2. JMB - One of the most talented riders ever with titles on both sides.

3. Danny Chandler - Could be unstopable on his best days.

4. James Stewart - Like the modern day Chandler he did things other people only could dream of.

5. Everts - The Goat of world championship motocross, passed Stewart on the outside standing on the pegs.

6. Jett - In my eyes, the most perfect rider on a bike of all times, a modern day JMB.

7. David Bailey - Also super smooth on the bike, and i think his name would have been written many times in the record books without that crash.

8. Decoster - Because of his domination in the 70’s when the japanese two strokes took over the world.

9. Herlings - Unmatched speed for over 10 years in the world and showed that multiple times on both european and american soil.

10. Travis Pastrana - Unmatched what he could do on a bike, and even years after he left moto for FMX, he could jump in at Daytona SX and be just as fast as the best guys. He have a unique ability to raise the bar for speed and go faster than what he ever have done before without actually have trained for it.

The reason some riders got left out like Tomac and MC is that i feel that they did not live up to their potential. Mc only got one outdoor title and Tomac left a couple of SX titles on the table.

So i wanted a mix of some of the best and some wildcards that not everyone thought about.

I’d have to go with

1. RC

2. MC

3. AC222

4.JS7

5.RV

6.ET3

7.JH84

8.RD5

9.4 way tie with DeCoster, Hannah, RJ, Bayle

10. Jett (with a chance to move into the top 5 within the next 2-3 seasons. The man can’t lose).

honorable mention: Windham, Sexton (maybe? Too early to tell), CP377, Heikki, Robert, Stanton, Barnett, Wardy, Bailey, Roczen, Pastrana, Emig, Guy Cooper, Bradshaw, Lechien, Hansen, maybe even Anderson in a few years when we look back as far as style is concerned. These guys all ripped and looked great doing it.

This is extremely hard to rate because for example RC has the titles but I don't believe he's the best rider, RV is a better rider but doesn't have the titles, both got the most out of themselves so I rate them very highly in that regard, Eli for example is faster than both but I can't rate him as high as the first two because I believe he didn't come close to his potential which in my opinion from him is weaker mental, RC, RV, JS now Jett and deegan for example they just get it done and find a way to do so, that's what Eli has always lacked.

1.RC

2.RV

3.MC

4.Everts

5.AC222

6.Herlings

7. Js7

8.RD

9. Eli

10. jett.

All fantastic riders, top 10 is unfair.
