lol here's what you said like ten posts up.

"Can you prove me wrong that major players in the industry are working to keep riding areas open so we have a reason to buy their shit?"

seems like it is someone else who didn't know what the MIC is.

Keep picking and choosing shit just to be right pal.

I also said "I don't think they actually fight for us as much as you want to think they do."

Like I said though, you wouldn't know that since you hadn't heard of them until 15 minutes ago when you googled shit to prove me wrong.

yea exactly, 'you don't think' but you actually have no clue.

What does me knowing or not knowing the MIC existed before this have to do with anything?  You denied it's existence.  I proved it in 2 seconds. So yes I did prove you wrong.

I love how you can completely make shit up in your head and it becomes fact.

Where did I deny it's existence?

Just because it exists and it has a website making claims, doesn't mean they actually do anything.

But, you only care about being right on Vital, you don't actually care about what's happening out in the real world.  The real world where some of us participate in these access issues and we don't see the MIC doing fuck all.

here https://www.mic.org/#/gov-relations buy a membership and you can see all they are doing.  you literally said prove to me the people in this industry are fighting for us I did that in 2 seconds.  You think they've pulled the wool over the eyes of American Honda, Kawi, Yamaha, Wiseco, Suzuki etc that keep being members year after year but don't actually do anything.

If you care so much why don't you try to get on the board of the MIC and really show em how it's done, guy!

It’s not about winning or losing it’s about having a fucking clue.  The fact is all the people you said weren’t fighting for us are, are they always successful? No.
This sort of stuff isn’t exactly front page news and it seems unless something is literally shoved in front of you it’s not happening or isn’t real.

and to go back to the bill being discussed in this thread it’s not even about closing a currently open riding area.

Maybe not directly, but this is a step towards it. You and I both know not everyone will follow this and eventually some sort of big accident will happen caused by someone that didn't take the safety course and that will lead to talks of shutting areas off. Stuff like this is just the beginning and we all need to see and acknowledge that. We give them an inch and they eventually take a mile. Us in California have seen it first hand in many instances.

Do you think without this bill that same accident couldn't happen and the same thing won't be discussed?

trying to enhance safety especially for people new to dirt bikes, ATVs, and SxS is not a bad thing.  sure their will be some bad apples but it will benefit a lot of people that actually take it to heart and could be the difference between a fun day on the trail and a tragedy.

I'm definitely not saying it wouldn't. What I am saying is this is them getting their foot in the door and now they can push harder when anything happens. I am all for enhancing safety, but it always starts out as a "safety" issue. Future changes to this new law will be in the name of "more safety."

I'll also go as far as saying the amount of people this will make an actual difference for is going to be minimal at best. The ones that take this to heart are the same people that were being cautious from the start. The current idiots are still going to be idiots after this.

They aren't members just because they think MIC is fighting for riding areas, but that doesn't fit your narrative of proving me wrong so let's ignore that.  Ever heard of AIM Expo?

To further prove you don't have a fucking clue what your talking about and just want to win an argument....your dumb ass doesn't even know that they don't sell memberships to individuals.

Wanna keep talking out of your ass some more to keep up your Vital street cred or are we done here?

im trying to think of a parallel to this in another situation. Drinking and driving laws?  Seat belts?  Motorcycle helmet laws?

As likely as it is that an accident will happen that will bring up the discussion you are talking about, it's just as likely the education will protect someone from getting in that accident that brings about that discussion.

it did make me think of this video

Yeah, I'd say it's the one telling the other one to join an Organization that doesn't accept Individuals as members Wink

All good broski, just do me a favor and when the MIC doesn't save your Utah riding areas, please don't come to Idaho to ride.  We already have enough Utards that invade us during hunting season.

Hahaha I made one mistake. You were wrong atleast 3 times. And sorry bro already own a house in Idaho.

what’s more believable. A multi billion dollar industry is or is not lobbying for things that benefit its customer base?

maybe they aren’t doing enough to live up to your lofty standards or giving you a debriefing on there daily minutes but you’d have to be stupid to think they just sit idly by. Not calling you stupid though cause you can’t actually believe that.

Wouldn't it be easier to just admit you don't have a fucking clue what your talking about and are feverishly googling to try to win?

If everything going forward is about safety then all fun will end.

This whole stupid mindset of "stay safe" is about controling your behaviour and making you a weak stupid fuck.

The pussification continues.

Man’s biggest mistake has been trying to subvert natural selection.  If you’re stupid enough to get yourself seriously injured or killed you deserve to get yourself there and shouldn’t be able to have a chance to reproduce.

She's right. Many Sxs users have no trail etiquette at all - they go where they want and run over whatever is in the way. Everything turns into a blown out whoop fest and single track ceases to exist. I'm sure it's way worse in the desert than here on the coast range. Hard to bomb thru dense woods on one of these things. We've all read the horror stories here about ignoring signage, one-way wrong-way morons, and on and on. This type of legislation was just a matter of time.

We don't ride Brown's Camp or the Oregon dunes specifically due to safety but that's just one component of this whole mess.

Its not just SXS users up in Sedona (or in Arizona in general), there are pink jeep tours and offroad jeep and truck people riding as much as SXS users.  Its not about SXS etiquette.  The green tree huggers don't want off road people - motorcycles, quads, SXS, jeeps, you name it.  They don't want it.  Hell, they are complaining about Ebikes and electric Surron's too.  The end game for the liberals in this is no off road vehicles, period.  Some are even bitching about mountain bikes.

Make no mistake, this is not the end.  This is the start of the beginning of the erosion of offroad freedoms disguised as something else.  If that is what you want, then we can't be friends.  I know the SXS craze is out of control, but that's not what this is all about.

And our governor should be impeached for pay to play during her election campaign.

Hold my padded soda...

We have had ATV rules here in CA for sometime now. I copied this from the state OHV website:

Conditions for Operating: Minors

No person under the age of 18 years shall operate an all-terrain vehicle on public lands of this state unless the person satisfies one of the following conditions:

(a) The person is taking a prescribed safety training course under the direct supervision of a certified all-terrain vehicle safety instructor.
(b) The person is under the direct supervision of an adult who has in their possession an appropriate safety certificate issued by this state, or issued under the authority of another state.
(c) The person has in possession an appropriate safety certificate issued by this state or issued under the authority of another state (CVC 38503).

So OHV is heading the same direction as street licensing. My son's street permit requires him to ride only solo, in daylight, with a fully licensed rider tailing him. Then he had to take a 2 day on bike course and 6 modules of on-line training. Now he can go to the DMV with both certificates, pass their vision and knowledge tests, and get his full endorsement. Helmet required here for street use, plus the usual insurance too. I have zero issue with ANY of this for street.

I tend to support this for OHV too. I sure as hell don't want an 11 year old driving a 240hp, 100mph capable Sxs anywhere near me unless they've shown some capability to do so safely. The real root here is there are too damn many people on this globe (8.1 billion and counting) and it's getting crowded. Unfortunately not all of them are as intelligent. self-aware, and handsome as my fellow Vitards. Smile
