What’s wrong with the original carb that it can’t be cleaned? I have a spare carb body/bowl,cap kicking around I could part with but you’d need to install your TPS/powerjet/metering block in it from your original carb.

That carb will work but I don’t believe it has a power jet. I believe that ignition timing on your bike gets altered by TPS, and without it it’ll be in a fixed position curve. Some people do this with the original carb by unplugging the TPS. I personally wouldn’t but to each their own.

A few people prefer the standard "non-power jet" carb. To be fair the KTM/Husky has a PWK carb without a TPS or powerjet and it's arguably a better bike enginewise.....you can make that work fine but you may need to rejet it. just plug and play but it will change how the bike feels to ride.

I have a PWK38 A/S with TPS and Powerjet on my KTM 250sx so i had to do the reverse, i block off the powerjet and the TPS wires are tidied up and hidden

That AS-1 carb with the correct jetting will work just fine. Since it's about 15mm longer than the OEM carb, make sure it doesn't push the airbox boot into the shock spring.

Just a head's up, your new carb is a Chinese counterfeit carburetor, not a real Keihin.

The quality control mark on the Keihin is not something real ones have. Vent hose does not say Plas-tech. The finish doesn't look right. Here are some photos of a real one to compare against. If you buy on on eBay or Amazon you are probably getting a counterfeit.

It is a counterfeit so they try to make it look as real as possible. There is no ID cast number on yours. The quality control mark on the Keihin is not something real ones have. Vent hose does not say Plas-tech. Fuel inlet has two ridges, should only have 1. The finish doesn't look right.

Thanks for the info Chad.
My son's PWK equipped 03 CR250 had a Chinese needle in it, but with your info we were able to ascertain that the carb itself is a real PWK.

I don't see any problem running chinese Keihin pwk. Just swap oem Keihin jets, needle, slide return spring and set correct float height and they work just fine. I know several people who has done that and haven't had any problems
