I feel like it's only fair to say that Trey was not behind the 5 minutes on RacerX yesterday. He has not complained publicly to anyone, and has not said a word to Blake about the incident. I'm not really sure why it seems like Trey is getting slammed by some of you about the article when he was not a participant. And I know Trey has many supporters, just as I know not everyone is a fan--that's fine. Just please be a little more sensitve to the fact that these are real people, with real family and friends.
These racers make decisions in such a split second, I don't really see how they do anything right. Trey has made his fair share of bad decisions, so has anyone else out there that races--it's the nature of the beast. Our position is that it doesn't do anyone any good to keep rehashing what is in the past, just move on. Again, Blake and Trey have been friends for a long time, and will continue to be friends.
Jake Weimer has definitely been the guy most prepared to go out and get this championship this year. Just as Wil has definitely been the guy most consistently at the front. The championship was not lost in Seattle because Trey has made some costly mistakes in this series long before this race. He might have had a shot, but it's not to be--move on.
To the guy from Oz who sent me a PM (I accidently erased it before I would respond), thank you. We are big fans of Metty too!

Trey should be VERY proud of how this season has gone. His showing in the 450 class was "epic"....
P.S. Thanks Mom241 for giving us some of your insight into the life a Great your Man

My mom watches the SX races with me when I DVR them, and she always comments on how well spoken and genuine Trey seems when he is on the podium. Not to mention those podium interviews were on the 450!
Keep up the good work, and hope to see him on the box this summer!!
Good luck this weekend a win would still feel pretty good.
x2...Cox was out of line as far as I'm concerned. Ask once, get an honest answer and move on!
Thanks Mom and good luck this year outdoors!!
Cox on the other hand...wow...that was an awful interview. Question was asked and answered...over...and over...and over...
Blake did a great job of dealing with it.
I become a bigger fan of "Team Canard" every day. Good luck to TC in the nationals this season!
Pit Row
A dozen or so lucky race fans got to hang with Trey Canard at Seattle Children's Hospital on Thursday for an hour or so for some bench racing.
Those there got to see what a class act he is.
Same is true for Davi Millsaps and Justin Brayton.
Mrs. Mom241 You dont have to explane anything. We all know what type of person and rider Trey is.
Steve Cox is one of the few journalists and photographers who travel the entire AMA circuit, and he's done exactly that for the last several years. He brings an unbiased (though not always widely shared) perspective to the sport as a writer, and he’s also a photographer, a skill he picked up during his five-year stint with Cycle News. In addition to his column in Racer X, you'll see him name on plenty of articles and race reports.
