he just went a peg up in my books.... FAMILY 1st.... he still a heavy hitter out there more than anyone with the exception of JS... plus Kaw knows hes in it for the outdoors and with james not racing and rv hurt he'll the the odds on favorite to take it home.....

Under his contrtact hes supposed to perform at the best of his ability and yea a first child on the way could be very distracting so I get that but overall he doesn't seem to be riding very well if at all on the Kawi and doesn't seem to care. If I was Fisher I would be pretty upset with his lack of motivatition and results before and after injury......The reson he said it's "The best outdoor bike" is because Kawi's don't turn very well at all but are very stable and in SX a bike that turns well is of HUGE importance. Yes I know RV hasn't had a problem but he has been riding them for his entire professional career so Im sure he has adapted and found ways through testing to make the bike turn better.

MXA is not scared to report how badly the KX'Fs turn (great motors in both 250f's and 450f's HP kings) the biggest problem is that they have a horrendous push out of a corner.....Its prettry obvious CR isn't the same CR we are used to seeing, when he was on Suzuki the guy looked like superman and this year ehhhh not so much. MXA isn't my only refernce I have friends that work within the factory level stuff and he said the same thing....IMO Suzuki has the best bike out there at that level since they naturally handle and turn better than any of the other "big five"...yes I consider KTM to be at the same level or even a little above the previous "big 4"

Also CR doesn't seem to be all that into racing anymore he may be getting old but that shouldn't slow him down so much in less than a year I'd chalk it up to 3 things....Lack of testing to get comfortable and make the bike work for him, Lack of motivation, and being in the twilight of his career but if tonight shows anything with Kdub's win Chad is FAR from old in the SX game.

The Kawi and CR outdorrs should show either 2 things.....he still cant find his grooove on the Kawi and when his contract is over don't expect to see him back for anything SX/MX relating to racing ....or he shows up like the real Chad and lays wood in the outdoors....only time will tell but IMO he doesn't like the Kawi at all and again that is just my opinon.

The more interesting (hypothetical) question to me is what would Chad have done if he was still in contention for the title at this stage?

I fully understand his position at the moment, and I think it's pretty feasible that Monster/Kawasaki are taking a more strategic view, being that Chad is signed for the outdoors as well so with RV out and nothing to gain in SX they are taking a pretty conservative approach.

Of course it's easy to say that you are saving yourself for the outdoors if there is no SX title on the line, but if the title was still a likely or possible chance it would have been a different story.

I think he's getting to a point where cashing out while he can (retiring healthy) is more important than risking becoming a paraplegic just for a championship.

These guys are totally indoctrinated by motocross in their early years, like a hardcore radical Muslim, and when they get older, they tend to start seeing the big picture in life. That's the feeling I get watching some of these riders mentally mature.

My posts are about what he is saying not how he is riding. If someone asks him are you distracted by the birth of your baby, I think a better answer would be, yes I'm distracted. When there is down time like waiting for practice or my heat, my heart isn't here but when it's race time, I'm ready to go. I'm a professional rider with obligations to my sponsors, to my team who puts in countless hours giving me the best equipment I can have and last but not least to the fans.

P.S. If he is not comfortable with a track, it's his call how fast to race. Who the hell am I to say a rider isn't trying. I know he wasn't in the championship. Again, it's not his riding, it's what he said.
