It's interesting they went up a tooth on the rear. I just put a 49 on mine which is one down from the '24 so I can spread second and third out a little more.
Don't have enough time on it yet to really notice the subframe issue, but good to know it's a straight swap out.
I wonder if the 25 updates are enough to pull me off the 24.
They are dropping the ball by not racing the Nationals, majority of the fans at a race actually ride.
In my case my pocket book would determine pulling me off a 24 and buying a 25. The more I think about it my wife maybe be the deciding factor!

Colors look better!!
The dealer will remap your '24 with the '25 map when they get them, and if you have had your suspension done already, the only real change is the subframe and rear axle which are the only changes that peaks my interest.
The colors do look better. I didn’t realize there was a problem with the 24 450 RX breaking sub-frames till I joined a Beta group on Facebook, it’s a problem. I know the batteries shipped with 24’s were undersized. Looks like thay fixed that too. I didn’t pay any attention to see if they listed MSRP for 25. RX”s aren’t cheap.
I thought the same thing about the gearing. Im also coming off a 350 so shifting more is hard to get use to.
Crash breakage or seat bouncing type stress?
I went back to Facebook and couldn’t find the post. I actually think it was removed. I recall it didn’t sound crash related. I recall the guy had two break from the post. When I did a search I found a few subframe breaks on different models but nothing on RX.
Massive changes to the 300, 5 speed gearbox too. Very interesting overall.
I didn’t even bother to read the changes to 300 RX. Guess I need to read it, I posted the link lol. I’m stuck with 24 I have for a while. Surprised they did away with the 6 speed, of the opinion it’s one of the reasons off road guys are buying them.
Yeah, I was quite surprised by that. Sounds like it is pure MX and not XC. I dig it. I am super curious how all the changes translate to the track though. Then naturally what parts crossover, by the looks of things, most engine stuff will. Be hilarious down the road if the 5 speed guys want to convert to 6.
I’m in a few Beta Facebook groups. I’d bet 9 out of 10 300 RX owners are off-road. Some with light bars. Not saying those guys don’t hit the track every now and then. Still mainly off road.
True, but a more specific and dedicated MX bike may change some of that. I guarantee the 5 speed will change people's enthusiasm. It does with any other brand. 25 isn't gonna be the same as the 1st gen, certainly not as utilitarian.
While I do agree with you, do you think the majority of the fans that actually ride that are attending the nationals are unaware of Beta? I do wish they were doing the full outdoor schedule for sure but I'm just not sure if Bloss getting 12-15th is going to do anything for sales.
I bet there is a higher amount than you'd believe who have no clue who or what Beta is...having said that, for those that would be interested, a mid pack finish isn't going to boost that desire to buy one. Many are too dense to realise it isn't the bike.
Benny’s results aren’t gonna convince many people but having a visible presence and people being able to see that bikes in person is a good way to generate buzz.
Pit Row
Beta had a large display with several bikes in vendor row at Redbud a year or two ago, and they also have the commercials running on Peacock. It just seems like they have less interest in racing-for-marketing than most.
Weren’t they significantly down on horse power in 24? Only a map update?
I’m of the opinion the 450 is down a little in HP the dept. One of the tests I read indicated 350 ish. Beta wants a bike people can ride, not just for pro level riders from what I read. With that said some lower class and novice rider buy a bike based on higher HP numbers even though they don’t need it.
It’s really not down that much in terms of torque and HP.
The 450 goes as good as you want it to or the skills you have, very few are going to have the dyno difference be an actual reason for behind someone else.
I now remember reading that same dyno test. Doesn’t take me long to forget!
I was surprised when I read it because I would have guessed lower based off the feeling.
It's odd that even at the end of that paragraph, it says 'its a very gentle 450 four stroke...'
I wonder if it's very slow revving? so while it technically has the power it doesn't have the hit so 'feels' slower and for an A/B level rider would struggle to get out of corners and give it the pop for jumps... not sure? I slow revving usually means you would have to keep it at high revs to stay in the power, rather than being able to chop the throttle etc etc, making it feel less nimble (due to rotating mass)... not sure but strange that it has the power but feels very gentle....
Also strange that the race team struggled to get more power with an aftermarket pipe... It all seems very strange to me.
My guess slow revving... Like how a KTM 125 feels vs the faster revving YZ125
There is nothing really slow revving about it at all, it just has a very linear power curve. It doesn't have a big hit anywhere but builds smoothly and quite quickly actually. I think it signs off earlier than the other models so maybe that's what they are talking about? I wouldn't know, mine still hasn't seen the rev-limiter.
It’s just easier off the bottom, not slow by any means. Picks up in the mid good but I’ll agree with Avid that it signs off too early. Find myself shifting a lot more than Id like. Might try the 49 tooth in the rear even though the 25 went to a 51.
Did you drop to a 49 on the rear? If so how do you like it?
