Staten and Bauer give conflicting versions of what really happened at Corona Raceway in 1981, when the alleged Golden Gloves boxer, Staten, was schooled by Bauer after a racing incident. The fight was broken up by John Gallagher, who is now the FIM Supercross Referee. ...

The video is kind of dark, but you can see Rex getting a little worked up around the 4 minute mark...LOL

Way back when I was a grommet and flagging out at Corona, Rex would see which of the flaggers were paying attention and which weren't. Apparently he was bored one night, because he roosted the heck out of me. Smile

Two Corona Raceway Legends.

I was at many Corona GP's and Friday Night Races and Bauer and Staten were always up front and hard for any other Pro to beat.

I can't believe how many of the old schoolers who were actually somebodys in the industry float around these forums and still are fans of the sport.I'm sure theirs alot of industry people and pro's that lurk around here nameless.But it's cool to see some of them announce and share their stories first hand that we had to read in a magazine or heard by word of mouth.Cheers!

Now if we can only get some of them video library people @ ESPN or former TNN/Country music or whatever happened to that channel to start showing some of these old races.
