That's a good indication that they have not just folded up and moved on, right?

I have a new contact there too, so the organization appears to be pushing on.

Don’t you usually try and do that the year prior to the season?

Right? I thought WSX said the teams signed a 5-year commitment contract to race the WSX series. What happens to that now? They're really fumbling this whole venture.

The contracts actually let the teams out after two years.

And needed renogociation anyway due to new ownership -and the will to throw less money out the window.

Adam Bailey's version of SX Global had a 10 year deal with FIM and a $50 million commitment from Mubadala and they didn't even come close to making it work. Do you think the trust fund kid with no history in the sport is going to fare better? Good for them that they got FIM to agree to accept their monetary contributions for the next 10 years but it means nothing and their post saying they'll be around in 2033 is a strange flex.

I think it’s interesting to consider the change.

Bailey was there with Cochrane, and the industry seemingly blackballed the series from that point on. Bailey then tried to play damage control for a year, while also trying to be the face, and get new markets, and do video shit and seemingly be part of everything and didn’t get sponsors in line.

The trust fund kid doesn’t have the Cochrane hangover and will likely be more focussed on partnerships while other people take care of the racing side of thing.  It could be a better stich

It's pretty simple if they are profitable they will grow if they are not it won't last very long....their chances are slim

A failing business model is a failing business model.  The only way I could see it work is if WSX and FIM group together insane amounts of money from more than one source. Then go to all the promoters of the off season SX races (i.e. Paris, Geneva, etc.) and cut a deal with them to include those races as part of the series. That has about as much chance of happening as hell freezing over. Even if they did somehow make that happen, the last time SX had several different promoters all running within the same series; someone ended up murdered (i.e. Mickey Thompson).  Logically, WSX makes zero business sense. The FIM is more corrupt than the NCAA , and that folks is saying something.  They are only after getting payments for sanctioning races. They have zero interest in helping WSX find bags of money to throw at this thing. With the advent of SMX in America, and the amount of money riders can now make; riders all over the world have more financial incentive to race SMX rather than WSX.  Hate it for all of the riders who signed contracts expecting to get paid a certain amount.  Reason being, that nothing is certain about WSX. Unless you want to say WSX is certain to fail.

with out OEM support it seems like a lost cause, its an expensive game to make sx tracks in the middle of cities, and felds greatest asset in this is running monster truck shows the week before or after,

Wilson is racing in WA soon, fans are loving it, Kenny will be back and Parris and others as well along with Aussies and NZ riders, nations are jumping on board, plenty of junior Aussies and Euros and even those from India SX have a dream of being able to live at home and race international SX, the Aus sx series is lifting and plenty still have the dream of racing AMA sx as well. This is perfect for SX world wide.

The prospect of a reliable supercross series around the world, with varying top level competitors, was real exciting.

Was it just managed terribly and then they lost all their credibility bailing on dates they'd planned?

Or was there a genuine lack of interest? The limited Arenacross events in the UK seems to get fans in, French supercross seems to do well, this Indian dealy seems to be taking off... Australian supercross sounds like it's gone a little cold?

I'm asking, as I don't know, I'm not picking a fight 👍

For France, since JMB we got a Supercross culture and in the past (90’s to mid 00’s) we had an amazing national championship. But, since like 2010 it just got smaller and smaller with less class every year and less event. But it’s still quite popular and really competitive it was just 10 times more back in Pichon and DV days you know.

I know it would have already been posted… but seems like a step up in terms of the teams global experience… as well as Kurt Nichol and the hope that’s this V2 revival removes the Cochran stigma that really destroyed its standing with US teams…. We can only hope…

This is really good news for anyone wanting to see the series continue and probably bad news for the many people who are seething to see an extra way for more riders to earn a living fail.

What hyper successful traveling sporting series has Adam Bailey built and ran?

To say Andy built nitro circus would be the biggest leap of mankind. I know he is listed as co-founded but I don’t buy it. However he does have experience and should be an asset to wsx. I still don’t see this business model being successful, but I’m all for guys making a living on dirtbikes.

Anyone else get major Tony Khan vibes from this Kyril person who is the Co-owner? That’s my non-moto comparison.
