Hey guys, thought I’d give an update on Michael. Last week they put the piece of skull back in that they removed to relieve pressure. He remains the same as far his condition. As far as we know he is not recognizing people and he can only move his right hand/arm. The family continues to struggle as his insurance is now canceling his policy through work now that 6 months has passed. Cobra sounds like it will be the next option but is very expensive. I’ll continue to give you updates as I receive them.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers, Andrew

Damn!  I think about this thread a lot and always hope for a positive post.  I was un aware that your insurance can drop you once under Dr’s care.  Saddens me that in the name of “healthcare” they sure put it to and having to go to Cobra isn’t cheap.  Hoping for better news and my best wishes out to family and friends. Stay strong, you are a good friend.

Make sure they have some good social workers on the case and maybe a good disability lawyer. Sounds like he should probably qualify for medicaid/Medicare disability at this point.

Sorry I haven’t been sending any updates on Michael. But there has been no change unfortunately. Really bummed out tonight to hear that the doctors don’t think there will be any progress in his future…thank you for your concernsIMG 0849 2

This is a major bummer I was hoping for some kind of improvement over the time it's been! Sending positive thoughts to all the family and friends!

As difficult as it is for the family to have to deliver that kind of news, I'm sure they find a little comfort knowing that you continue to think about them and ask for news. Its not much, but it is something and that's about all that matters in circumstances such as these. Thanks for updating.

Oh man.  You read all the fun things about riding in the various threads. Then you get to one of these and it gut punches you of how fragile life can be.  Can’t imagine what he, family and friends are going through.
