I've thrown in the towel with Moto Related

The quality of threads next door in Moto is mostly piss poor. Not sure what's going on with the folk there....posting whilst on the bottle, smoking to much pot or both....or just plain stupid.

Also, there is to much nastiness going on for my liking. I've had enough.

Even though Non Moto has it's ups an downs, I find for the most part folk here are a pretty damn solid bunch of dudes.

Have a awesome day or evening wherever ya all are. I'm busy reading Clive Cussler - Dragon. 19h08 here in the Arsehole of Africa....got two hours to read before lights out.

Cheers.

Well I think it's just that Vitalmx has changed tremendoulsy lately, not blaming anyone or pointing the finger, but it's just not the same as it used to be. But then again, neither is SX or MX.

There are a whole bunch of real good dudes next door and there are plenty of good topics each week but it only takes a teaspoon of shit to spoil the tub of strawberries....you know how quickly things can go south....

Anyways, maybe I'm just a grumpy ol bastard and just want a little more peace n quiet in life.

Back to my book..Silly

The Moto section is too unseemly for you, so you're going to remain here? Now, that's strange!

Well, at least here we know the kooks are. (I might be one of them) And you know who's worth responding to. On the other side of the fence, not so much.

There’s some really good guys on the other side.
I’ve started threads, asked questions about things and, received  some really good responses. I mean if someone starts getting mad because I say, quit posting Shamu playing volleyball out of humor, then I can’t help but to laugh. That point wasn’t aimed at you Electromoron. More or, less the responses 😂

3/4's of the threads are obvious "scroll past" threads.

The rest, other than quali, and night show threads, quickly turn to shit after the first page.

Yeah , I don't think a ban is necessary though . It's just too bad that the political threads are the ones that mainly stay at the top and it's really only a few people that keep them there .

Make more out of your Vital experience, by logging on less.  There's nothing wrong with the site, the threads, posters or management.  Like most anything else, it's what you make of it.

So, for the guys who’ve been on Vital for any extended period of time, what’s changed?

I’ve only been here since 2018 but, since then, it’s gotten more and, more divided. An us against them type of thinking. To an extent, it’s almost like it’s up to us to moderate ourselves.

I think a big difference between vital now, and vital of yester-year is the amount of content available to us now.

When I first started going on vital, it was a way to be in the know, riders switching teams, that sort of thing, I relied on the board to be current on events. Now, with so many podcasts and social media, you don't need "insiders" on the forum to stay current.

Since there is no need for breaking news, you just get shit posts.

good faith disagreements, now its just blame the other side

(its always been there, but i think GuyB kept a lid on it better,  not always down the middle by nay means , but it made for a better debate imo)

Like already said, threads can start out all good and interesting and quickly by the end of page 1 it turns nasty and then we get 3-5 more pages of just 2-3 people talking shit to each other.

Couple things that bother me most and will have me check out on a thread no matter what...

1) Turns political. Someone calls someone else a liberal cuck or a dickhead trumpster or whatever. "oh you must be a MAGA supporter" like seriously wtf does that have anything to do with the conversation? They're just trying to start a fight and putting someone down on the internet is about as stupid and ridiculous as it possibly gets IMO.

2) People who just can't accept that others have different opinions or see things a different way and MUST win any and all debates/arguments at all costs. They start writing insanely long posts that nobody gaf about because their voice must be heard and they must prove how "right" and intelligent they are. Suddenly the whole point of the topic is totally gone and the thread is off the rails.

We all know the ones who are repeat offenders and I just ignore every post/thread they make or just check out of the thread entirely even if it started out really good because at that point there's no going back and legit replies get lost in the mud.

It happens in Moto, Non-moto, etc. you can't escape it.

Th big change was "COVID". Our whole lives have changed. Pre-Covid. You'd go to work, have family time, buy things that extened your already voluminous hobby collection. People could afford a place to live, maybe even go out once in a while. Covid changed everything. Then, our genuine distrust of government restricting our every move. And the more we talk about it then more we find out just how bad our government is screwing us. So yes, it's always on the top of the board. Are there other things that make us smile and want to share? Sure, but it doesn't get far till something reminds us of how bad our government is doing. And not only is it us, it has brought what the government is doing to the attention of a LOT more people. Shit, pre-covid we weren't worrying about WWIII, we were worrying about what the weather was going to be for this weeks desert trip. Life is just soo different. It's not a GuyB thing, it's a timing thing. I got banned by GuyB for writing negatively about the pull out from Afghanistan. Did his (guyb) censoring us make the job of the government any less bad? No, anyone with a sane mind knew it was fucked up. Now it's just more in the open.

I think the bickering and division will always be there, just the topics change and/or get more personal and serious at times.  I remember when Honda came out with the dual pipe, I thought some were going to kill each other 🙂

The ronronmx forum during the George Bush and iraq war days was very divided and sometimes ugly.

I do know exactly where your coming  from in regards to, changes post Covid and, all the government BS. I’m still trying to find a damn house I can afford. 500K buys some POS my wife and, I can’t even live in.

In regards to my question, I probably should’ve been a bit more clear. I meant, in regards to all the BS within the forum. The arguing, the BS posts. It seemed like people were more respectful of one another regardless of their beliefs up until a few years ago. Personally, I can get along with anyone for the most part. Reason I believe that is, I leave politics out of the conversations. People are so quick to say, Lefty. Trumpet. Whatever. Like, it’s a flex or, something.

I always thought, treat others how you wanna be treated and, I’ll match that. Don’t get me wrong. If the person is a complete idiot, Fuckem. I’ll call it out.  But, I’m this way on Vital and, outside it.
