If you want to be the best, you should have to race every rider that is on the track, not just the one that are in the title hunt. I hate to see when a top 5-10 guy just roll over and let the fast guys pass.
BUT i hope that Eli and Justin man up and say that if Webb want the title, he should earn it by him self, not by gift from his team mates.
Eli probably would not be too keen on that. Think 2017 SX championship...
Granted it was a non-points race, but Joey pulled over and let Eli win a cool million when both were on Kawi's.

Let's expand on this a bit... Say Eli is hanging up the boots after this SX season. Last race of the season and Eli is leading, but Cooper is in P2, and needs Eli between him and Jett to close the deal. (I know...a lot of hypotheticals here) Does Eli pull over for Webb and Star, or does he go for it and bookend his pro career with wins?
I doubt this scenario would ever happen, but that would be a tough call IMO...

For Eli it would be an easy call. It’s his career, not Webb’s. If Webb deserved the title, he should have done a better Job the whole season, and i think that Webb would feel the same way to.
He don’t struck me like a guy that want a title he did not earn him self.

In general no one wants to just hand the championship to Jett his rookie year but the 450 is mature enough to not send him over the berm every chance they get. Barcia had his hit and these guys are good at pinching off the good lines but don’t look for people like Anderson to have any major contact. They may look like they are headed his way but they are pros and can ride tight on a SX track. If anything they are just making Jett take more chances I don’t know if others will do. Bumping off the start is the best chance they have and makes for more tv making Jett work through the pack.
