We drive 10 hours to Millville every year and 9 hours to Freestone. Perhaps we could build it in Ozy's backyard, and he could watch it...

Ozy,

When you look at the Demo's...you might take into consideration that the Geography changes the "Radius Rule" quite a bit: The entire "Southland" would likely be a lot less affected by the change of venue than the Radius Rule would imply.

Then there's the conditions of the change: Do you end up at a Venue that the Moto-Public/Fan-base considers a "Better" place?

Hell, is that even Possible?

I'm of the opinion that we end up at the Glen on Sept, 11.

Maybe I'm being too Hopeful, tho.

Cmon Ozy, Pala is 50 miles from downtown Corona, it aint that bad.

I live in San Diego my whole life, and believe me, this national will be PACKED. Motocross in the USA was born at Carlsbad, this county has tons of hardcore fans

You forget there is a giant Casino/Spa/Resort across the street from the racetrack that will surely bring the wives and girlfriends that are reluctant to come to a dirt bike race, shit Im going to stay there for the race and I live only 40 minutes away...

Unfortunately Ozy the peanut gallery doesn't get it. Not until about six weeks from now when most people are getting excited about the GH National only to realize it might be gone forever like Saddleback and Carlsbad.

A FLATLAND National track will not see a penny from me and the effort it takes to go there, I'd rather go riding.

G, I'm honestly not even following this thread. If I got on here and cussed DC out the exact same people would still give me grief. Doesn't matter to me anyway - been on here long enough to know that if I was out riding with the same people we would get along just fine.

Some guy in the first thread told me to do it myself so instead of telling him to "F" off I typed the longest post I have ever done in my life . . . whatever!

Pala would be a nightmare to get in and out of with its single two lane highway back to I-15. IF DC really wants to grow the sport of MX then moving Glen Helen to Pala is about 5 steps backward.

IF DC is hellbent on San Diego then he should contract Chaney Ranch motocross and run it there

Brent, Pala is about 80 miles from Glen Helen, from where I live in the South bay beach cities, I would have to drive to the I-10 I-15 interchange and then down the 15 to get there. Extra 65 miles each way plus the nightmare of only one dead end two lane highway (only one way in and out) from I-15 to Pala. I don't do good in traffic jams. But since you live down that way you're stoked if they run it at Pala.

From what I read, DC wanted to have the May event at Glen Helen this year.

It's possible that the rescheduled September event might end up at Glen Helen.

All this talk about Pala may be exactly that. Talk.

You think the Pala hotel manager is trying to figure out why he has gotten a couple hundred reservations for Sept 11th weekend in the last week?

Exactly.

I don't think they will be able to find a better substitute track in such short time. Hopefully both sides will chill out and just get it done. I'm wondering what the 'drop dead' date is for announcing where the Sept round will be held?

BTW - if they do go back to GH let's hope they get that Monster sign location right this time. Shocked

Probably
He'll also be real confused if all the sudden he gets a few hundred cancellations

Cockbobber,
I haven't been on here since early Friday. I know that's an unreal task for your peabrain to fathom. But alas you have a reputation to uphold of being the Motoboard's #1 ASSHOLE which you uphold quite nicely.

Good Job, at least you were good at something....lol

IF they reschedule Glen Helen maybe we can keep our fingers crossed they bring in some fresh talent to build the track

Cool

No, people will just bitch that it is in September, just like last time it was at the end of the schedule and attendance will be way down and that'll just cause more bitching....not to mention GH will likely lose money because that game (last race of season) has already been played at GH and....how did that work out?

Ozy, feel free to send me the Chaney Ranch contact info. I have also spoken to Joe Oehlhof this week from Competitive Edge.

Chaney Ranch is great but about a zillion miles from the center of nowhere.

It is hotter than the surface of the Sun in the high desert/ Victorville area in September.
