Moto Van Necessities?

Hand pump washer ? Do ya hv a pic ?  I like to travel light in the van. I use an old fire extinguisher, add water then get air psi with a bicycle pump . A cargo box on the rear for fuel cans. This setup is nice thd hitch is swing able . I think it’s too hvy but I like the box. I found an alum cargo with 6 in sides with a hitch. The  box would go inside it. 

I've been living in this full time for 7 months. It's a little different now as this photo is when I was building it. I just have more shelves these days and a vice on the kitchen unit.

There's got to be room for the bike to be loaded easily, I travel alone and I've loaded this setup with broken ribs and a broken ankle at different times.

I have a memory foam mattress which is a double at the top and single at the bottom so I can still walk out of the side door. The under bed storage is bike/camping gear plus larger tools, a spare exhaust, tyre changing stand etc. The shelves are full of tools, I can and will be doing engine rebuilds in here plus servicing forks. Two spare wheels plus spare tyres when needed live to the right of the bike under my gear.

I also have a battery powered pressure washer and a total of 75L of water capacity when needed. Although I've only ever used 30L and that was in the Sahara.

My spare fuel is at the rear left under the tool shelf, with that plus the bike I've never smelt fumes in this van because of the two roof vents directly above it, and that's a carbed two stroke that I don't drain the float on.

Fog machine

Insulate and level the floor. Makes it so much easier to build on and keeps your feet a bit warmer on those chillier mornings at the track. It also helps with road noise a bit.

The main thing is, don’t make it so nice that you’re afraid to use it for what you built it for.

A spare tire for your van can save a ride day! I once missed a NEPG race I pre-entered for. Got a flat on the way, had no spare, and by the time I got it fixed the race was already half over with.

Now I keep a full size spare and a small jack ready to go.

Well it’s not a van but it’s my new build out project!

I never made a division wall in my e350, my next van I will make a wall, the gas fumes suck. Roof top fan for ventilation. Definitely insulation on floor & walls & then some type of interior wall boards so you don’t dent walls from the inside. 

I’m afraid to get that nice rig muddy 

Lock n loads? Anyone have a report?

12v fridge or cooler. I use an Iceco. Never buying ice and always having cold beer etc is a big plus. Also I have a Keurig for morning coffee, so nice not having to find a coffee spot every morning. 

That is awesome if I was single without kids my life would look similar 

Careful what you wish for. Twowheelsintransit doesn't have one and he's still in his van 7 months later...

A dirt bike is a necessity for a moto van. Otherwise, it’s just a van. 
 

It’s kind of a joke, but kind of not. Vans range from covered pickups to mini rvs. Just depends what you want. 
 

I have the risk racing lock n load. And tats probably my favorite feature. Keeps the bike secure without having straps everywhere. 

I slept in the back of a cargo van at the races for many years. Fighting mosquitos was always a problem.  We sewed velcro on the edges of a mosquito net that was cut to fit the back door opening and put the other half of the velcro around the edges.  A small battery powered fan was nice too.

If it’s a Chevy Express get some traction boards, cause you’ll get stuck on wet grass all the time

Sprinter 2WD is the same. An alternative is an on board air compressor so you can run the tires down low to squat the rear and spread out the contact patch when necessary. 

Must haves; Air, Fuel, Spark 

Any updates on the van? I bought a 1500 dollar van myself and I'm still figuring out how I want to build it out.
