It is possible to be a republican and also disappointed in Trump’s behavior.  The name-calling and reposting of adolescent memes isn’t what many of us want in a former and potentially future president.  He could win in November based solely on Biden’s failures, but he continually reverts back to somewhat childish antics that please the base but doesn’t incentivize the majority of voters. He’s got to quit shooting himself in the foot.

Yes, it is. I’ve said before, I’m not crazy about everything he says, or the way he acts sometimes. But, I look past that and see what he did for our country. And you have to realize that 99% of that crap you don’t t like, is just the NYC  tough guy attitude coming out.

That and compared to the other choice.... ?well I don’t really see that we have another choice.  Let’s just say for shits and giggles we look at it like we’re hiring someone to run our business, would Biden get 1 vote ?

It’s a crazy dilemma many of us face. I support 90% of Trump’s platform, but have grown weary of his rhetoric.  I’m not sure what’s driving that behavior, but most tough guys don’t need to tell you they’re tough guys. Trump seems obsessed with public adoration, which he has achieved, but it’s never enough. He could lighten his tone to secure swing voters w/o losing the base. But that’s not happening.

If you support 90% of Trumps platform. How much of Biden’s platform do you support?

Vote based on that.

I’m in Texas, so my vote doesn’t matter. I certainly won’t vote for Biden, and I can’t vote for Trump.  So I’ll wage a silent protest in favor of “None of the Above”…

What great things did he do for our country? What are the five best policies he pushed for and enacted into law? What would you say were his best qualities as a leader of the US?

"NONE OF THE ABOVE" should be on every ballot from dog catcher to president.

The lesser of two evils just seems like a silly way to go about things.Blush

Border crossings from 2009 through 2020 were relatively unchanged except for a one-time spike in May 2019. Meaning Trump simply managed a 7 year trend, just like the economy was firing on all cylinders when he was elected in ‘16. And the same applies to crime rates.

So Trump didn’t resurrect the US from dismal situations, but he did something just as important: not f’ing with a good thing. He was smart enough to recognize that less intervention would keep things on the right trajectory. Whether this was a conscious decision or resulting from his lack of interest in the details is unknown, nor is it relevant.

I do not understand your question, but Biden…

opened the border

ruined our energy independence

crime rates are soaring

Is incoherent

caused inflation

New wars

falls down a lot

has no respect from world leaders

wants to regulate your life

announced transgender day on Easter Sunday

weaponized the justice system against his opponents

taken millions of dollars from foreign governments

has a two tiered justice system

does not seem healthy enough to finish a second term

etc.

Compared to Biden, or before and after Trump?

He’s not worth responding to except to remind him that he forgot to switch to his burner account that one time. But I’ll respond here.

Border. Definitely an issue at the border. It’s not wide open like the right says, but we do need to pass legislation to upgrade our technology and process immigrants much faster. While I will 100% agree it’s political for the Democrats to push for this legislation in an election year, it’s also true that the Democrats called the Republicans bluff. They knew they didn’t want to actually fix the border crisis, because then they won’t have that to campaign on. Trump even said so. He told Speaker Johnson no deal and he didn’t even bring it to the floor for a vote. This was a step in the right direction for our border crisis and Republicans said no way not doing it. They’d never get a deal that good again unless they take control of the House, Senate, and Presidency, and maybe even have to end the filibuster. To get that deal that they’ve been complaining and campaigning about for years with a Democratic President and a Democratic Senate would have been a massive win.

Low crime rates is a lie because they are lower now under Biden. If that’s important to a voter, they’re voting Biden.

Economy is stronger now, by all metrics used, than it was under Trump, even pre-COVID. Furthermore, the economy was great when Trump took over. So how much credit should he really get for those 3 years pre-COVID? Another thing that you’d be voting for Biden for if the economy is your main concern.

No new wars … We were still involved in Afghanistan and Syria. He pledged to get out of Afghanistan and did not do so. He made a deal with the Taliban to get out in 2021, conveniently after the election. He passed the buck to Biden there, just like Bush did to Obama and just like Obama did to Trump. If we are to truly believe Hamas, a terrorist organization, would not have attacked Israel with Trump in the White House, I’d like to sell some sand on the beach to anyone believing that. Ukraine it’s hard to say. Putin has said multiple times he believes Ukraine is part of Russia and wants to take it back over. Putin also prefers Trump in the White House. We have seen multiple people in Congress and right wing media, loyal to Trump, praise Putin and are strongly against any aid to Ukraine. I have a hard time believing, given those facts, a Trump White House prevents an invasion.

We are literally producing more oil now than we ever have, which included the 4 years under Trump. We are more energy independent now than we ever were under Trump. So the drill baby drill is, once again, a thing you’d vote for Biden for if you actually cared about it at all.

So at the end of the day, if we are super super generous and give him 2 out of the 5, we are still waiting for 3 more things that Trump has done much better. And it’s also important to note that those 5 things weren’t actually pieces of legislation passed to help the American people like I asked for. But again, generously, he gave 2 of them. Waiting on 3 more.

Dude, you’re on the wrong side of the fence on “rights & liberties” and then you fly into the latest MSNBC talking point with your “Republicans running around screaming…” …and then you apparently feel wounded or assaulted by “CAPITAL LETTERS”…used to make the point of what is literally an attack on our rights…by the democrats and the Biden administration as documented in the aforementioned works by Schellenberger and Taibbi.

No worries. My reference to the 10th Amendment was lost on you when replying to the point that you started about abortion rights.

No worries.

No one is "wounded or assaulted" by your capital letters, dude.

It just makes everything you write come off like it's written by an angry twelve year old which isn't a conversation style I choose to participate in.

Unfortunate because we could be having some real conversations but alas, here we are.

Have a good one!

And I’m better off under Biden. Doesn’t mean I’m voting for him.  Because being “better off” is an individual responsibility, not a government-sponsored mandate.

Trump made some people feel better, others worse. Statistically he simply maintained a status quo handed to him by (horror of horrors) Obama.  And Obama was no friend of big business, yet big business thrived under his administration.  Why?  Because successful enterprises can’t wait 4 or 8 years to “feel better”; they make decisions based on reality, whether they like that reality or not.

Personally, I don't blame any president when things are bad...and I don't give "em credit when when things are good.

It's a monstrous game of whack-a-mole and made worse by partisan politics.  It's awfully hard to do what's right when the folks that own you want the joint to burn.

And when are applying the standards set by your side (President Obama's words) the "best in the history of the world" who are you guys to critique how he should "act"? Maybe you should be more concerned about how the ASH Admiral Levin "acts"?

Who is my side?  You don't have a fucking clue so just shut up.

Newsflash, I don't have a side.... unlike fucking sheep like you who just follow every little thing your team tells you too....I think for myself.

It's fucking pathetic that people like you are such sheep that if someone agrees with even one thing that the Left believes in you automatically just lump them in.  Same goes for the folks on the Left that hate everyone on the Right.  It's pathetic.

Fucking pathetic.  Period.

Wake the fuck up and try thinking for yourselves folks.

Bless your heart! Some of youu communist , marxist, democrats are great debaters. Almost like masters at it. A good debate tactic is to control the narrative. The 2 most important things right now are the economy and border security. Biden has destroyed both. So even if you are wanting to give credit to ovama (undeserved) what happened when biden took over? He screwed it all up is what he did. Btw, hiring more people to process illegals is not securing the border. That is why Republicans will not vote for the border bill. Biden supporters are becoming a smaller and smaller minority every day as things get worse and worse. You democrat guys here are on the wrong side if all this.

When did this switch happen? After a higher percentage of Republicans voted the 1964 Civil Rights Act, or after a higher percentage of Republicans voted for the 1965 Voting Rights Act?

Tell us how many Democrat legislators and Senators switched their affiliation to the Republican party after those two laws passed.  Must have been a bunch.

I just get pissed how divisive people are....if you agree with one single thing that a certain party believes in or says they just lump you in and instantly hate you/think your an idiot etc.....when ironically they don't truly have a clue what they are talking about and are just following like sheep to the slaughter.

Higher percentage doesn't mean more, which is exactly why you chose percentages... obviously.

But thank god for percentages vs popular vote otherwise Republicans wouldn't of have a man in the white house in a long ass time, am I right?!

I just get pissed how divisive people are....if you agree with one single thing that a certain party believes in or says they just lump you in and instantly hate you/think your an idiot etc.....when ironically they don't truly have a clue what they are talking about and are just following like sheep to the slaughter.

Every body thinks their opinion is right...if they didn't...they'd get a new opinion.

I've come to realize that words rarely change someone's beliefs.  I just try to be a decent human to everyone and see if that example plants a seed.

American by birth.
Southern by the grace of God!

Correction...

American by the grace of God!
Southern by the grace of God!

Never forget how lucky you were to be born in the United States and all the privileges you get to experience that so many others don't just because they weren't as lucky as you and I.
