Wow how refreshing to not hear Carmichael's nasally voice trip and stumble over words. RV can actually do this job as an announcer. Carmichael's performance the last few rounds has been so bad, it makes me wonder if the production crew actually hates the viewers.
Actually enjoying listening to the broadcast right now and I can only hope production realizes just how bad RC is after having RV as lead announcer for this round.
RC in the booth tonight.
GOD NO 😭😭
Yeh it’s quite ridiculous, RV is more recently retired from racing, was just as good if not a better SX racer than RC, and actually knows how to speak proper English. Maybe RC dates one of the higher ups at NBC and that’s how he’s been able to keep the gig. It’s undeniable that he sucks at his job.

RC + Monster since 2006?
"Monster" Energy Supercross
Something funky is going on. They just can't possibly be oblivious to just how bad of an english speaker / personality / announcer that RC is
I think this is race #5 that I have muted, including RDL. I just read the message board for qualifying. For the race I just watch the race and play music. I guess with Jimi Hendrix being from Seattle he'll be the guy tonight. 🕺🏻
I wish on Raceday live we could just watch practice, there’s too much going on when the guys are actually out riding the track. Less stories, more riding.
And during the race the first time they cut to Screech she'll say "I spoke with team manager so and so blah blah blah" during lap 3 or so. Horrible production on a consistent basis. Finally pulled the plug.
Especially those of us watching from a phone or smaller screen. I think an interview or otherwise is more appropriate before or after the practice/race than during it.
production has become an outright embarrassment. If you have some free time, go on youtube and watch an old race from the early 2000's like 2001-2003. My God the announcers were so talented and the production was surprisingly high quality compared to today.
I'll be 62 in June so I actually watched those races live! Even with Jeremy destroying the field, the announcers made it exciting. Any era of announcers were better than this (including Ralph).
It's funny how many people assume that every former pro would actually want the job. They should get Windham, they should get RV, etc. Maybe they have zero desire to follow sx around the country. And would they want to essentially step on Ricky's toes by taking his job
Why does it have to be a former racer? Some former racers like RV, reed, brayton happen to be quite good (not full professional announcer level). Stew is good enough. RC is a complete embarrassment of an announcer.
The best announcer i can remember was at glen helen early 2000's (the round RC and stew squared up). He sounded like a surfer type bro. But he had such an even tempo and chill demeanor. Combine him with the other "more hype" announcer: it was a great duo (even though neither of these two were any type of former pro racer).
Justin Brayton is excellent, he should replace RC.
Daniel Blair.

Supposedly Carmichael had him shit canned for being a threat to him. Just the rumor cooksey spread.

Gotta be careful. Talking about Lord Voldemort on this site. But that begs the question, where is daniel blair? Disappear out of thin air? Did he take an accounting job ? 🧐🤣
He heads up the KTM amateur program and he's on Patreon, but I ain't payin' to listen to a podcast 🙄
Blair has a podcast and YouTube channel. He's also busy with the KTM Group Amateur program.
He still does Main Event Moto Podcast and YouTube shows. He’s also the KTM group amateur manager/coach and part owner or a partner or something of NXT LVL 101 training facility.
I am not sure those show were live? Were they? Back in 2001 and 2003. But these shows today are bad.
I can't remember what I had for dinner last night and you want me to go back 20+ years? Live or tape-delay they were sooooo much better. 🙂
Interesting point. Some were live some weren't. But I thought the races were always called in live time. Could be wrong
I'll always say that while we were doing our homework, RC was pounding laps as a kid under the watchful eye of his mother Jeannie. The price of being the GOAT. I'm sure he has no regrets and can't say I blame him. Just wish he'd stick to podcasts and Triumph.
Did y’all sense any tension between Weiganht and RC during RDL? Looked like it to me. Jason looked like he was tired of RC’s quirks…like we all are.
Brayton or JT and even Blair would blow RC out of the water. I am so tired of RC’s stammering.
RC remarried a gangster Doctor I believe and has her own money. She's really badass. You should've seen RC's face when describing her, dude found a good one this time around...
He just played his cards right, those gigs require alot of politics. I am just as annoyed as everyone else, but you gotta play the corporate game and RC figured it out.
All that's left these days is nepotism and diversity hires...
