I remember Ricky Carmichael commenting about how fast the Factory 450's can be made to go and that Eli Tomac's likes running his bike exceptionally hard hitting.  Back in the day, 500 2 strokes were always known to be particulary brutal, but I wonder what the limits are of a 450 with more torque and how much power they can be made where they just want to rip your arms off.  With modern day 4-stroke having up to 10 maps, anyone ever have a Map tune with Engine mods that was specifically set up for riding the Dunes with a Paddle tire or Hillclimbing and who built the motor.

Not me but my buddy bought an old Twisted built 2020 CRF450... that bike was way too fast for anything MX related. He was slower on it, everyone that rode it was slower on it. Just too much bike!

A stock 450 is too much for 87.64377% of us.

Wringing the piss out of a buck twenty five is far more gratifying than cautiously twisting an abundance of power.

Not everyone uses their 450's strickly for Motocross, but also going to the Dunes where big power is a good thing to pull a Paddle.  Just wondering with the luxury of having maps to choose from and curious of some peoples experience with having the best of both worlds in one bike.

I haven’t, but a friend of mine is about to find out what that’s like. He just sent his 2023 YZ450 engine along with a blank check (so to speak) to Twisted and told them to do everything they can do to it. I’ll report back when he gets it back in a few weeks and I ride it.

It doesn’t take a 450 to be to fast………ride a Beta 300 RX in the sunshine mode with factory PV setting lol!

Yes! I'm very interested in hearing how his YZ450 turns out.

Yes.

I picked up a beater bike, stock '19 YZ450 (350 hours when I got it).

I've been surprised how much impact can be made with the tuner app. I'm still searching for more torque without sacrificing traction.

Makes it really hard to ride when you don't know if you're going to spin or wheelie coming out of every corner.
