I know this topic has been beat to death but. Is there any other guys out there that would like to see MX Sports add some Vet classes for the true amateur vet riders? Maybe a 25+ Amateur 35+ Amateur and 45+ Amateur where there are no former Pros allowed? It’s great that those guys want to come back to the ranch and race, I’m all for it but it would be cool to have some vet classes that are strictly amateur too.
Because they only have 6,438 classes now and are looking to attract more riders??
30+ and 45+ are Sportsman e.g. don't allow former pros.

They do. Rules are that current and former pros can race those classes as long as they have never scored points at a pro national or qualified for a Supercross main event
I’ve read the rules many times. I know the class structure. Pros can race as long as they have never scored points at a pro national or qualified for a Supercross main event. Meaning they could have finished 21st in an outdoor national and made the night show in Supercross.
You know. Everyone claims they want the sport to grow. They want events to grow. They want more people to get involved in the sport etc etc etc. But then you crap on ideas that will actually bring more riders to events. Vet riders spend a crap ton of money and will show up if there is a class for them to race.
Ok, so define amateur?
They already have like 10 hours a day of motos for a week long event....where do you propose they squeeze in more classes?
Maybe... just maybe..... if you aren't fast enough to qualify under the current structure you need to just face the fact you aren't a National caliber rider?
There are races to race every single weekend of the year that folks interested in getting into the sport can race. Just because everyone can't qualify for Loretta Lynns does not mean nobody wants the sport to grow.
Exactly, and those same vet riders might sign-up for a local National event if its in town on their local track and give it a go (so they can say they lined up with ET), finish 37-31. Now that person is never allowed to race at LL because they raced a Pro national???

An amateur would be a rider who has never held a pro card at any time, never qualified for Loretta’s in an A/Pro Sport class and might as well add or any Vet Sportsman class to that as well. It’s really that simple. Will the classes still be competitive? Yeah, at least to top 10 guys will be hauling because they most likely will have been former local A riders. The main point is to get more vet riders involved. They typically have money to spend, you have to think of increased revenue generated not just for Loretta’s but local tracks for practice, dealerships selling bikes and parts, entry fees for area and regional qualifiers etc etc. Let’s be real, most people get to the ranch the week prior to the event. Practice could be moved to Sunday and a day of racing could be added on Monday which would honestly make the entire even better and not so many motos have to be crammed into each day. It’s just a suggestion. They added a ton of C classes but the Vets get nothing

And maybe…. Just maybe…. You are actually one of the hypocrites who don’t actually want the sport to grow. This is after all, an amateur event. Based on what your opinion seems to be, the C classes should also be done away with because after all, C riders arent national caliber riders right? Let’s be real, vet riders are the ones who get hosed when it comes to classes. I’ve had multiple discussions with friends of mine who are former and current pros and they are all for the idea of adding some vet classes to the national. A few of them are in the industry and they know it will bring in more money if Vets are exited and have a goal to shoot for

Because enough guys in the industry pissed and moaned about having to race the Junior 25+ class or Pro Sport that they changed the rules for them and allowed them in Vet 30+
Yeah, that's it, I don't want the sport to grow because I think that not everyone should be able to qualify for Loretta Lynn's... you nailed it bud.
Do you really think there are Vet riders out there who aren't riding and racing, and in turn spending money in the industry, just because they can't make it to Loretta Lynns?
Look, I'm sorry you aren't fast enough to make it to the Ranch, but the solution is in your own hands....literally....just twist that right grip a little further

Yeah you’re right, It’s hard to ride with a torn rotator cuff, torn bicep tendon, broken ankle, a concussion and a blown out knee. But yeah I’m sure guette hurt 4 years in a row had nothing to do with not qualifying out of the regionals. I’m definitely not fast enough. I honestly could not give a crap less about qualifying anymore or even riding. I’ve raced A class, Pro Ams, and some Arenacross many years ago and even did some Pro Ams at 32 years old. I’m nothing special and I know that, I’m just another washed up scrub who never made it in this sport. But I realize we are in a great place in the sport and if we add some vet classes for Loretta’s we all stand to benefit from the growth, yeah vets may be spending money at local tracks but it’s the prestige of Loretta’s that draws people to it. If you wanna have the “well just get faster” mentality then the same could be said about the guys dominating the vet classes now, they should just get faster and race pro sport and Junior 25+
I'm the guy you are referring to. I am that fast local-A vet who never had a Pro license. So, I'd be the guy "benefitting" the most from your proposed new classes. Under your proposal I'd probably have a pretty good shot at running near the front as opposed to riding around behind the Former Pros in the current classes.
And my thoughts... don't care. Doesn't increase the likelihood of me going to LL. Whether I ride around in 10th-30th behind Pros.. or get top-10 in a "true-Am" class, either way doesn't affect my life. The cost and effort of the whole deal is much more of a consideration to me. Anyway, just one guy's opinions. Others may be more inclined to go. Especially if they live closer than I do.

I agree. I’m in the same boat as you. Not sure if I would try and race or not if they made some changes. But it would be nice for Vets to not get screwed so much. I understand that C classes always have picked gates but why do we need 8 of them? But Vets get nothing
I’d put money on it haha maybe not Junior 25+ but if he’s able to run 40+ I’d say he’s got a shot

How are we going to benefit? What substantial growth is going to come from adding even more classes at Lorettas? Is growing the attendance of Loretta Lynn's how you quantify growing the sport?
Are you on the MXSports payroll? Then I could understand how "we" would benefit I guess....
They should add 50b55 a,b but the Ll track isn’t that great anyway . And a 5th in 25a gets u nothing. Sunset ridge is rt by u rnd 1 of racer x vet series is there may 17 practice, 18 race. Then Millville, red Bud, Aztalan, Byron. All better tracks , mt. Carrol is close to ya that’s a better track than red Bud. 55+ the top ten r x national riders but they added 55b this yr. I just had more injections neck & 2 in the shoulder nerves. I hope it works my rt arm pumps up in 2 laps, left arm never, neck disk r all blown out.

The top 5 c riders at lorettas are probably racing local a class. For what loretta is I personally don't think there should even be a c class there.
They don’t race. They just ride at training facilities to try and win Loretta’s. But I don’t necessarily agree, I think there should be novice classes because it’s an Amateur national. Jeremy McGraths only LL title was in 125 C class. It’s a stepping stone class. I just think there should not be as many C classes as there are
