I'm brand new here so hopefully im doing this right. My brother and I just bought a 2004 KTM 125sx and the guy we bought it from said the cylinder needs resleeved. He said he sent it off to millennium and they said it couldn't be replated. it looks like its in good shape besides the 2 areas on the cylinder and the part by the port or powervalve? sorry I'm new, just trying to learn! also does anyone know what the writing means on the outside. Thank you!

It looks like they cut it +.030 and it was not enough.
Shop a replacement jug even if you have to have it re-plated.
he said Millinium said they couldn't replate it. there is a jug on ktm world for $650. I don't want to go that route with how expensive that is with that being said a sleeve is my only remaining option correct?
It needs to be repaired (welded )and plated. Call several different companies like Powerseal and Millennium and get their take. They advertise that they repair and replate.
ok, I will defininetly call powerseal tommorow. My only last question is I just found a new jug in the UK and can get it to my door for $485 would you still advise I get it fixed if it'll cost me around $300-$350 or would I be better off just buying a new jug?

As @MxAddic said, it looks like they cut it 0.030", which is 0.76mm, Wossner make a 2mm oversized piston...

Depending how deep the damage is, a replater may be able to cut it deeper for the 2mm oversized piston.
thanks for the info. if it were you would you get it resleeved to the stock piston size, cut it deeper and replate for the oversized piston, or just get a new jug for $485?
If it was me, I wouldn't buy a KTM!
Your best option would be to go with the new jug.
Is that an OEM cylinder? That thing looks like absolute junk. Is that what KTM was putting out back then or am I going crazy?
I'd just go ahead and grab a new one in any case.
That is what cylinders look like after they have gone through the chemical bath to remove the nikasil plating.
