I have a Shoei's VFX-W and once on, it fits like a glove. But I'm curious, anybody else has trouble putting it on and taking it off? It feels extremely tight around the temples doing that. Yet like I said, it fits like a glove.
1) This takes the award for the worst ad in the 21st century. It would have been bad enough if the kid was riding in a yard but to be going through what reminds me of a trials section with no helmet is just bizarre.
2) I am waiting to get my AGV to replace my David Bailey replica One Industries helmet that is going on four years old. It is in fine shape but I really don't like wearing a helmet that is more than a couple of years old....especially since I have taken a couple of soil samples with it.

I just bought a Klim. Very well vented, if you want a vented helmet, it is great.
Troy Lee has some nice looking helmets. I like the old school simpler designs myself.

I sent an email yesterday, after reading this thread I put mine on again, but I just pretty much lopped all my hair off... Wouldn't mind it being a little more snug...
Pit Row
Without verifiable data on dirt impacts it will be just opinions on "fit and finish" with the standard DOT and Snell testing available at this time.
On a side note, I found out last night that the TLD helmets are made in China. I will be trying the new Shoei and buying those (depending on where they are made) or Arai from now on.
I got replacement ones for more SE2 through my local store.
Im sure MCA could get them for ya.
Who is arai? Shoei shot or lazer are the only helmets worth looking at.
shoei.......lazer.....then shot
All fantastic helmets. If you can afford it then shoei are with out a doubt the best lid, but if on a budget then shot are fantastic value for money. Shot striker is carbon and Kevlar
I wish we all had more objective results with which to judge helmet safety, but that's just my interpretation of what I've read. I think the Shoeis and Arais might be on the verge of becoming old fashioned.
They are both utilizing different methods of a similar new wave of technology.
Weight is important too, because if your head whips in a crash, the added weight of a heavier helmet can increase the speed at which your head hits the ground, the pendulum effect.
I use Fly Carbon now, but very soon my next helmet would be a Kali. Problem is that there're is no dealer I've found that stocks them so I can try one on.
Somewhere here on vital, guyb did a feature on Kali Protective about a month ago, it is definitely worth a look.
