Jett is outstanding and will obviously keep progressing.

I'm a little surprised that people don't think any other youngsters or GP refugees or whoever have any hope of progressing enough to challenge him?

Granted nobody jumps out as a clear favorite right now.

People will keep working, keep training, they'll keep watching Jett, Chase, Eli, etc, they'll keep developing in their own right, blah blah... It's not out of the question is it?

"It's not out of the question is it?"

Depends how big of a fan of Jett you are. I'm waiting for someone to say Jett should have to start on the second row.

I get the OPs post. I’ve been saying the same thing. All the guys we’ve been watching for YEARS dominate the sport are all retiring soon. Look at the list..they’re all gone soon. Who’s going to content with Jett? Chase? He for sure can. But there’s no one from the 250 field I see that could come in and challenge Jett and Chase. Going to be a weird time for sure.

Even if Jett dominates for the best part of a decade. The sport didnt suffer when MC did that. It didnt suffer when RC dominated. People love to see battles. We also love to see legends being made. Anyone who loves the sport will watch regardless.

Jett could win the next 3 races and then suffer a season ending injury like Eli did last year. There’s no guarantees in sport. I would have thought last year was a great reminder its not over until its over.

I think you're stretching it saying he's had an " incredible good luck streak ".. yeah he's cased a couple jumps which I'll give you could have ended badly, but you make it sound as though he's near death every week which really isn't the case, you seem to be overlooking the fact that him making the potential big ones to small issues is just another part of his skill set.

That being said I don't think he's had a dominant season as yet anyway though and the racing has been pretty damn good... he might win them rest of them this year , he may not win anymore... who knows ?  Hence the reason we all tune in every week and wait to see what happens... nothing is a given in this sport !

Well you sure proved me wrong....    Good to know he'll never crash and DNF or get injured.

For crying out loud...it's like shooting fish in a barrel sometimes.

Stop these threads... There will be plenty of time to whine after all the 30-somethings retire. How about we enjoy watching Roczen, Eli, and the others give it their all in the meantime?

OP and others are just trying to get some comfort. As well as empathy and sympathy.

Did anyone think in year 2007 that Chad and James would battle it out for the 2009 SX championship? No we thought Stew was going to wax everyone until he decided to retire.

I think 'battle it out' is a bit much.  JS won 11 out of 17 races, Reed won 3.

Well they're just fightin' for second anyway. 22-0 outdoors again baby!

Excuse me while I take a shower now...

All this hand wringing and worry about Jett’s upcoming dominance.  Don't worry true fans will always want to watch the best ply their trade. Regis is right. The sport GREW during MCs reign

Pros and cons to bringing in outside fans, I guess. A lot of these people surely don't ride and have no interest in seeing the sport grow.

IMO, Chase is the only guy that has any sort of chance stopping Jett from total domination for the next 5+ years. Eli will retire either after this year or after 2025 at the latest. I don't see Webb having too many high-end seasons left in the tank... maybe 1 or 2 but I foresee him retiring after his current Star contract is done (he is also a perpetual non-factor in outdoors). Nobody else on the 450s is really worth mentioning - they're all going to retire soon, and they can't really hold a candle to Jett to begin with.

If Chase can harness the top-end speed that he had in 2022-2023 on the Honda while also staying off the ground for the most part, I think he has a chance to take at least one or two championships away from Jett. Will that actually happen? Who knows.

As much as I like Jett and wish him the best, There have been so many riders set to dominate for years , that have not for whatever reason.  There are very few sure things.   But if I had to say now if I think Jett will be an all timer when he is done. I would say that I think he will be. Who knows how far up the list he will get as far as titles and wins.  But as far as skills go, and how he has ridden  in the races that he has won this year, He is right there with anybody that has ever raced.

Hannah, Bailey, Johnson, Stanton, McGrath, Carmichael, Stewart, Villopoto, Dungey, Tomac were all unbeatable...until they weren't.  There are no sure things in motosports.  All it takes is a weekend on the lake, a miscalculation on a double, or a photographer crossing the track 100 yards ahead of you...and it's all over.

A dark horse is Vialle. He is making steady progress, he is young and he is a 250 world champion. He arrived in the US and is learning the SX craft.

He is on pretty much the same trajectory as Jetts was when he first arrived on US soil.

Vialle is very smart and just may well transition onto a 450 very well when the day comes.

It remains to be seen how many (if any) Championships he can win on a 250 before he moves up.

For me Vialle has all the right ingredients that will serve him well when he first lines up against Jett.

Talking of vialle.

There's as much or more chance that prado can give Jett a good run in outdoors.

Honestly, I forgot that Prado is coming over, so if I complained too much about jett winning stuff, I apologize. Him and Prado will be battling it out, and I can't wait to see what happens. I hope we get battles like 2022 because it would be amazing for fans and a refresher if outdoors this year is like last year.

People will do all sorts of mental gymnastics to discredit him. Honestly whether you're a fan or not it's been pretty cool watching him make history. Seeing him race Washougal last year was jaw-dropping, he gapped the field and looked like he was on a sight lap while doing it. Incredible talent

I'm sorry, I'm gonna say (and not to discredit Tom or Prado) but Jett is still on higher different level that I don't see them reaching.

They will be very good but will not bring the sport-changing speed that Jett has. Lawrence really has a talent that transcends time...

Good fukkin grief.   Nobody is discrediting the kid.   I've been on record saying the kid has incredible talent.

The ****LUCK**** statement means he hasn't been injured yet.      He's been very lucky given how many close calls he's had this year alone.       Nobody escapes injury in this sport.

Good grief....the sack gargling has taken all reasoning off the table.

Once again....it's not Jett people are knocking....it's the delusional/rabid fans.

When you have to start banking on potential injury as a reason Jett won't dominate, then there aren't many real reasons left.

The reasons I have are I feel Webb is renewed on the Yamaha, Eli is motivated despite the Daytona loss, and Chase is young and still fast with KTM in his corner for anything he needs (unlike Webb).

Ricky was hurt alot when he went to the premier class in SX. Anything could happen but Jett is a totally different kind of rider than RC.
