Dunno if it’s been mentioned, but congrats to Benny and his crew on their first top 10. I was thinking it was going to be a struggle for Colt45 to get in the top 10, congrats to Benny for pulling it off!!!

I was surprised that no immediate attention was given to Benny at the start. He looked great

He does deserve his own thread, but he is talked about here. Bloss

Not bad at all. With Colt back they might be a chance at 2 Betas in the Top Ten.

Props to them. "Handles like a MTB" has long been said about the Beta, so it's no surprise that it worked so well in Daytona!

What is meant by this? It’s nimble?

Yeah, put it wherever you want etc. The handling has been raved about since their first test before 2021 MXGP.

The best overall handling motorcycle I've ever ridden.

I just switched from husky to beta and I will say the handling is wonderful.

Italian bikes seems to be good handling bikes, because besides the BETA the TM Racing bike is also a great handling bike.

I spoke to Colt about the bike and he said loves how it handles.  It wasn't some media interview where he's trying to promote the bike, so he could have told me whatever he wanted about the bike as it was off the record.  I expect some top 5's from him eventually once he's back and up to speed.

Top 5’s is a lofty bar, would be cool but it’s going to be extremely challenging in this field.

I know it is, but I have faith.  I remember how fast he was when he broke both arms.  He should fit in the 5-10 place often and I think he's capable of a 5th or better on occasion, after he gets his race legs back under him.

I was thinking during the Heat when he was in P2, why aren't they mentioning Bloss/Beta right now! But the attention was on Kenny, and I think they did quickly mention it at one point after he dropped a few spots, was cool to see nonetheless. Then a stellar main event for BB, then getting props at the end, was definitely cool to see.

Did he mention if he was back racing this weekend? would love some front running just to get a proper look at the bikes.

What is the budget of BETA USA? Because there are a few great riders without a contract in 2025, thinking about Cristian Craig who could be a nice asset to help with the development in both indoors as outdoors.

I have somehow missed what the latest is on Colt. I thought he was coming back two races ago. Please inform me.

Also super pumped for Benny last week, that track was brutal and to place that high was commendable.

Congrats Beta and Benny on a great ride.

Slow bikes seem to be good handling bikes, too.  Not saying that is necessarily the case here, but a fact nonetheless.

If you love screamers you should try a TM 140 (they feel like a old school factory 125cc). I'm often a little sad that those bloody Italians doesn't expand their business and invest in riding days. Because if they did those baby blue razors would sell like Austrian bikes.

Benny did a good job on a tough track, I started to post on it but got busy with other stuff and haven’t been on the site much last few days.  A healthy Colt N might be good for a top 5.

I’ve said this before, friend that owns a Beta dealership rode a prototype.  He said the prototype got around the track really good and even thought it was a 450 it was easy to ride.  If it handles like my 300 RX and 4t to boot they will sell every one they make.

Beta has one other feature that helps handling: the stepper motor idle control. It minimizes engine braking by keeping the throttle cracked just slightly when you let off before returning to the idle position. Really cool feature that I wish other manufacturers would use.

Colt has been riding 4-5 weeks and will be racing this week.

Think Colt has a lot of pressure this weekend.  Think he needs to just finish and not get hurt, or the bike break.

How the heck can a guy who wasn't expected to compete for a podium who is coming back from injury have any pressure whatsoever? They will be over the moon happy if he is out there, does all the laps and maybe flashes something. The team has already met its goal for the year with a top ten.

Both Benny & Colt are on two year contracts through ‘25

And you can choose baseline, +100 or +200. I run +200 and it's about perfect for moto. Still drags a little on decel, but not too much.

Give him 3 or 4 races to knock off the cobwebs and get back to race pace, it's been a while.
