That was probably just the first turn but I still have no idea where I placed in this race. (post edit) check out eddies elbow down style and my elbow up style, I had to have beat at least him
Didn't Tim Hart start that fad of putting electrical tape on a bell star?

Cool pic ozman!
the starting gate is to the right of that tower in the picture. after that jump in the picture you make a left turn and then right into the turn which is in my picture at the top of the thread. That's the the first track I ever rode in my life when I was 13 years old

Yeah Larry! The 76' was a great handling Maico for sure! It made me faster than I was but man with my mechanical skills it sure was it unreliable!!! I had so many stupid problems with it and looking back probably most of them were probably my own fault. I never had a very consistent racing career as I always ran out of money and honestly would just give up sometimes for months until the spark would come back and this Maico just wiped me out with all of the breakdowns. I had the seat bracket brake and then the seat fall off in a moto, the stator coil unwind at Saddleback while trying to run with the big dogs of CMC. I tried S&W shocks and they actually pulled apart sending me digging in the dirt. I had the engine seize in one of my all time favorite races with Eddie Cole (Answer Products) at The Dunes due to fuel starvation after we went to a wheelsmith up pipe (you had to weld shut one of the fuel valves and then go to a larger volume fuel valve which we didn't do). I'm sure there are more but I'll always love they feeling when the bike was running!!!!
