23 MC 350 with 25 hours. Head tube and frame around pegs flaking right off. My 18 TC 250 did the same thing. Funny thing is I have yet to see the orange ones peel? Anyone else have this issue? Kinda crappy paint process on bikes we’re paying around 10g for.
Wondered the same.
The only time I've had a frame powder coated, they've primed it first.
When I've had friends get frames painted, they've been primed.
I know it's fine to powder coat bare metal, but is this just thin, cheapo powder coat straight onto dirty, greasy or otherwise un-prepped steel or what? I'm sure someone here knows their shit on this subject.
My 21 Husky is the same way especially around the pegs and bottom of the frame rails where the skid plate is, annoying but I usually hit it with some WD40 after I wash it and nothing is rusting.
You know....aluminum frames don't rust.
Figured that was coming. Know anyone making aluminum framed 350s? 😂

Lower frame rails my last few Aus bikes have had issues , I usually use POR-15 when it starts and that stops it

The answer no one wants to hear...but...it'll fix this...so, I'll apologize in advance...
Strip that bad boy down and have it properly powder coated. Go with pantone red 485 (aka "Specialized Red").
Been there, done that...black frames to orange...black or blue frames to white...etc.

If it were mine I would round the sharp edge as much as possible before touchup or repaint. With the sharp edge it will always be a trouble spot for chipping and flaking. It might not completely solve the problem but it sure couldn't hurt.
Just curious, how do they plug/cap the down tube? Or is it just hollow all the way up? Never looked at one.
One of the first things I noticed when I got my factory edition, even just wiping it off after washing leaves red residue on the rag. I ceramic coated it and that seems to help.
I believe only the orange frames are Powder coated. I’m pretty sure the black KTM frames, blue husky and red gas gas are painted. The white husky frames were also powder coated but I think the only ones still getting powder instead of the paint are the orange frames currently. I could be completely wrong on that but just from all the ones I’ve had/ seen in person that’s what it looks like.
Yeah figured that was the only true fix. I’ll most likely trade for a new gen ktm 350 end of the season so that’ll most likely not happen.
