He'll have his work cut out for him, that's a fact.

I'll say he'll push like crazy and transfer straight to the main and then fade hugely in the main.  Nothing against him, 450 SX is a bitch and jumping in after injury at round 7 with this group ain't for pussies.

EDIT - I'm reading he's not healthy and if that's the case maybe he should wait until he is healthy.  Could make his injury worse or cause injury to another.

Looks to me like he's only ever qualified for 5 main events in a regional 250 class with an average finish of 15th....3 of those were speedway races which should suit him better than a traditional SX....the Vault doesn't show how many he has failed to even qualify for the Main in..... and we got folks saying he should get a Factory Kawi 450 ride.  What a time to be alive.

Exactly.  Lol.   Maybe there is a reason he isnt on the other teams he rode for.

Making the main will be huge. People tend to forget how much he’s struggled in SX in the 250 class. Outdoors is completely different. 450 field is stacked..guys are ripping. He’s coming in late when everyone’s in their groove. So yes let’s get in the main first.

Yeah, he definitely did. Gonna be interesting to see how he will do coming into a season where everyone is already in full swing mode. Maybe him doing so great during SMX was a result of coming off such a strong outdoor series and carrying all this confidence, but I think he looked better on the 450 than on the 250 in general. I don't see top 10th finishes in this field but making the main and then some top 15th finishes would be a great start!

Plus he was fighting appendicitis loaded up an antibiotics. I'm in agreement with you, top 15. Get a feel for the speed of the premier class in sx and get his feet wet. Get through it healthy to really come out swinging for outdoors

For sure just reactionary takes to his success in a depleted outdoor field. Mx ain't sx. Now if we saw that same success indoors then they would have an argument

So tired of hearing people say his success last year in outdoors was because of a depleted field. He came back from last to third at Thunder Valley by catching and passing Webb, Plessinger and Ferandis. Did that at a few other rounds too.

For the record, his success last year was because of his speed, skill, training and focus.

I don't think he will have that success in Dallas this weekend, but towards the end of the SX season he should be battling for a top 5 -10.

Top 5-10?!?! Dude, that is straight crazy talk about a kid who has never had real success indoors on the little bike. That family has been through the unthinkable, period...and they can do what they want with his career....

But that doesn't make the "what happened with *insert team name here*" go away. Almost everyone in the industry will hint at some weirdness in their camp, and point to that when asked why he can't stay on a team for long.

Last summer was a fairytale for him and he was absolutely ripping, but until we see it sustained for a while, avoiding injuries, saying he's going to be top 5 in THIS 450 SX class is just insane.

I don’t think he’s better than Anderson but he did embarrass the green boys during the outdoors.  SX is a completely different animal but I’m hoping he does good and more importantly stays healthy for the outdoors.

He might be battling for top 5-10 towards the end of the season if a ton of dudes get hurt....if the field stays the way it is, not a chance.

Looking at the top 10 from last weekend, I'm pretty sure every single one of them is AT LEAST a 250sx champ if not a 450 champ or race winner.

Think about that.

Masterpool has only made 5 250 mains in his life, I don't have the stats for sure but I'd bet he's failed to make more than he's made.  In those 5 main events he had an average finish of 15th place, never a single top 10 finish....you honestly think because he was fast in 450 outdoors (in a fairly depleted field) for one season that he can all of a sudden be a top 10 guy in 450sx when he's never even been able to be competitive in 250sx?

I can get behind the first part of this but I don’t see there being a chance of him being top 10 later in the series

The field never “stays this way” we had privateers getting top 10’s last year and Justin hill on the podium at the end lol

You're not wrong.... but when I said a "ton of dudes" I meant even some non-factory guys like Moranz, Starling, Clason, Drake etc. etc.

I just fail to see how a dude who has never even got a top 10 in the fricken 250 class can all of a sudden be a top 10 threat in 450s because he had one good Summer outdoors against a depleted field.

How many times over the years have we seen these dudes have killer outdoor seasons only to never back it up in SX....I'll just wait to be proved wrong this time I suppose.
