Just got off the phone with owner of Beta dealership I’m friends with.  Big Country Motorsports Magnolia, TX.  He said 450RX’s should ship in next week or two.  I think he said he had 3 on order, deposits on two.  He also said he had 2024 300 RX setting on show room floor if I knew anybody that wanted a 300.  He asked me if I wanted a 450 RX, said I do but my wife doesn’t lol.

We got to talking about 450 RX power band etc.  I don’t know it but he got to ride a prototype 450 at one of the dealer meetings last year.  He said it was easy to ride for a 450 but no telling what changes have been made since then.  He’s going to call me when they come in, I may drive up and take a look.  Houston’s a big place hour and 20 ish drive from League City to Magnolia.

I ordered my 2023 500RS in Feb of 2022 it came in in Oct that year. It really is the easiest and most comfortable bike I have ever ridden. I am guessing you will love it too. Congrats!

Is the 500 RS the one that comes with the cool rubber mounted turn signal's.  One of those models is street legal as I recall, or can be.  If I recall was told by somebody one of those 500 cc Betas will run about 95 miles an hour or so.  I need one of those too…….but my wife thinks different!!!

I'm interested, because will Pro Circuit, Akropovic, Yoshimura, FMF... start to create aftermarket parts? Will engine builders look at the engine and start building? We all know that the bike is handling pretty good but is at the moment a little shy on horsepower but maybe some unsung engine wizard can do some magic and show Beta something they missed.

I’m certain they will develop parts for it.

Yeah, the RS models are street legal, which means you can ride it year round on any trails open to motor vehicles. I have a 2023 500 (480) and I absolutely love it. It doesn't do anything bad or unsuspecting, turns amazing and is really stable at higher speeds, but I did spend a good chunk of change on having the suspension completely modified through Beta. Stock gearing is 15/48 and is great for desert riding, but if it's anything like single track, use the 13t front sprocket that comes with the bike.

All that said, it's a terrible bike to ride for anything more than a short hop on the road.

Probably not a huge ROI to do Beta stuff for a while. I do wish Akropovic made a system for the RE/RR line-up. I just love the look of their systems.

It will be interesting to see 450 shootouts and tests with Beta’s new entry.  We’ve seen the same players for a long time.  New entry should make for good reading.  If the new 4 stroke is anything like the 300 RX I’d guess the important boxes are checked to some extent, frame, suspension and ability to turn etc.  The rest to be seen as it comes out.  I always like to see Keefers take when it comes to testing.

I bought a 430 a couple years ago.  Always been a Yamaha or Honda guy since the 80’s.  First Beta I’ve own.  Bought for trail riding, with a little moto once in a while. Been one of the best bikes I’ve own so far.  Now I was thinking about a Beta 450 moto bike.  But if you’re spending $10,000, why not buy a Yamaha or something else proven.

Ok, building the Beta a year an a half ago, was a nightmare.  Aftermarket parts were hard to come by.  Hard parts (OEM) don’t seem to be a problem, but are limited on aftermarket crap.

It’ll get last or second to last. They’ll say it’s fun to ride but the enduro heritage is too strong and it’s too mellow and too soft

even if the lap times are faster they won’t like it.

the magazines suck.

I'll be in line to buy a used 450 RX this fall or next spring. Guys were taking huge losses on the used 300 RX models around here.

I thought about the hit I’d take trying to flip a 300 RX, but I’ll keep this RX for a while.  It’s an unusual ride, Swiss Army knife like.  With that said I doubt the hit will be any worse hit than the 23 Honda CRF250R setting beside it in the garage, low to mid 6k ish at best if I tried to flip my guess.  If rumors are true some low hours Honda R’s have sold as low as 6k Facebook marketplace.

If the new RX is kinda mellow with a tick of off-road thrown in.  Sounds like a good old guy ride around the track in 2nd, 3rd gear bike.  Beta is supposed to be all about ride-ability.  My wife may end up pissed off!!!!!…..again.

I rode one a Beta 450 RX a few weeks ago. Very good handling bike, gives you the feeling it is short. Not so linear power as an Austrian bike, you may need to clutch it a bit, but very strong from mid to top end. I really don't need more power on a 450 cc. Only complain, some heavy vibrations in the foot-pegs. And yes, it was a bit muddy. copie rx
