... I was there, but my memory never has been that good - I don't remember a 125 class in the Trans-AMA series...

first off no 125 class & second Maico works bike were just production bikes with really good attention to detail.
The clown is just trying to use the "Wheelsmith" name to make more money & some fool will fall for it!
Besides Wheelsmith was just a local shop that made some cool shit for Maico's, they sure as hell didn't build works bikes!

from what I've heard, that ol' Cobra of yours and Maico 125 (& Zundapp 125
Main class was the 500s with 250s as support.
Those Maico 125s were a nice looking bike, but a stock TM125 would out power them, out brake them, out corner them and basically leave them for dead

Trying to shake the cobwebs off my 1974 memories of the local 125cc class in SoCal . . .
I remember that Honda 125 Elsinore seemed to be about 75% of the gate. The rest of the gate was mostly Suzuki TM's and YZ's with a few Pentons, Bultaco's and very rare CZ or Maico.
I don't remember European bikes being very competitive in the 125cc class in 1974
