In every sport, we never get the best color analyst. We get a color analyst who was a professional in said sport. Hundreds if not thousands of regular joes who never made it to the pros would be amazing analysts who will never get a look because all the broadcasting companies want is former pros.

However, "Dandy" Don Meredith (turn out the lights) and Frank Gifford were all-time great for former NFL players. Bob Uecker in baseball was unbelievably good! Man I'm old 😐

We are the #1 sport at complaining about the commentary

But we're stuck with this rag-tag bunch while other major sports have a plethora of announcers. Being a niche sport is the root cause

I disagree. There are plenty of better options, most of you just won't admit I am right.Evil

Nailed it. He is awesome on pods. Makes me think it is either the nerves of TV or that disaster of a producer Bondo that makes RC the way he is on TV

This is going to sound bad but I mean it in a good way. The difference between Stewart in the booth and Carmichael is, Stewart does not try and talk above his education and just says it like he sees it. It comes across funny and informative. Carmichael on the other hand tries to talk above his education and it sounds like he is a bumbling idiot. Carmichael is super smart and knowledgeable about the sport and he knows what the riders are doing. He should change his style to match Stewarts so he can get the point out. Most of us are not much more educated than he is. I know that I am not.

I've said it on here multiple times.  The problem is not so much the regular demolition of the English language, nor the bumbling - all though both of these shouldn't be part of a professional commentator's work.  The main problem is he offers no insight into what is going on beyond what a child watching the show could add.  His explanations of the intricacies of the sport are non-existent. James, for all his meandering and repetition, quite often adds real analysis to a situation - he offers something that only an expert would know or could see.

We have a right to.  I follow other sports and none of the commentary teams are even a tenth as bad as in SX (besides Weege and JT, and sometimes Stew).

I haven’t noticed it tbh.

But if it is going on, I mean ET3 is the second most winningest rider of all time and he’s an active rider so it would make some sense..
