Anyone know what happened between these two? Saw a video of Marchbanks down and throwing his goggles, but no explanation

Not much information but he mentioned it.

https://racerxonline.com/2024/01/30/privateer-profile-hunter-yoder-on-2…

If we went back a year-and-a-half, I wasn't sure what my job was gonna be. So now that this is my job, I'm gonna put 200 percent into it every time I'm out on the track, whether I'm racing a champion, or whoever I'm racing for position. I got in a little scuffle tonight with another rider. And, you know, after the race we had a little, I don't want to say an argument, but a talk and he said, ‘Listen, next time I'm behind you, you let me go by you.’ I said, ‘Listen, dude, I race to the checkered flag. I don't care who I'm racing. I race to the checkered. If I let you by, I'm never going to get better.’ If everyone let each other pass, we would each win each weekend or we would get the same position every weekend. You know, this isn't scripted. I put my heart and soul into this and I'm not going to pull over and say, ‘Oh, here you go, buddy, here's my position because you're quote-unquote better than me.’ That's not how I work. And like I said, I bust my ass and I put a lot into this. The average person doesn't understand how many hours I put into this. So there's no chance that I'm reading numbers and saying, ‘Oh yeah, you can go by me.’ That's not how I work and that's not how I was raised, and it's not changing now.

Well reading into it, it sounds like Marchbanks had a bad start, crash , or something, and was coming up thru the pack, and crashed trying to get around Yoder. If that’s the case I totally agree with Yoder - he’s racing for position.
now if he was lapping him, I could see Marchbanks being pissed

Wasn’t Marchbanks the PC rider that threw a fit and pulled the “Do you know who I am?” card at a track when they charged him entry? If so, this isn’t surprising. Thought he had turned a corner…

Considering he lost out on a win to a lapper and handled it really well. I’m taking what you say and throwing it away

What lapper? And he wasn’t close to winning anything at 40 seconds down.

Yoder gained a fan with this one.

San Diego race when Thrasher caught him, lapper wouldn't move over after multiple blue flags.  I am a fan of both guys and I am all for Yoder doing and saying exactly what he is doing.  As for Garrett, well shit happens as we have seen with Jett and Jason.

Story was that he did this out at Milestone, allegedly.

But he was also like 17 or something when it supposedly happened, so cut the kid some slack

I watched one of the ClubMX videos a couple of a years ago and Marchbanks seemed like a complete douche. Reminded me of that one guy in high school that's bigger than everyone because he's been held back a few years. Even had the mangy chin-strap facial hair.

The Yoder interview was classic. Dude sounds like he was hyped up on Mountain Dew. But stand your ground and race forward young man.

If you are faster, find a way around. It’s called “racing” for a reason. Can’t believe someone says that to another racer.

Yes!  Another Yoder fan here!  Don't  let anybody by (unless you are a lapper).

Where has this mentality come from that the top guys feel like the rest of the riders need to move over for them? I could never imagine expecting anyone to just give up their spot once they turn around and see it’s me.

I would “assume” a lot of it stems from being good and having a team of ego pumpers around you since you are a child. Along with copious amounts of winning and you have an athlete who has an ego problem.

To counter my own argument, a lot of the greats had an attitude in the moment and they were cocky. Remove them from The ultra competitive world they lived in and that ego goes away. Many examples recently with RC, James, and Chad

Just curious what everyone would think if Marchbanks cleans out Yoder this week if he needs to pass? Just good racing?

As always, it will depend on the pass. If it's a clean block pass, no harm, no foul.

If Marchbanks saws off Yoder's front wheel, Freise-style, watch the pitchforks come out.

Couldn't be more accurate, his Dad is one in a million.

Should've just grabbed his helmet and yanked his neck once or twice.

If Feld would install the wide angle cameras we would all be able to watch the replay.  I was there at A2 and it happened right in front of me.  It looked minor to me but when Marchbanks went down he laid there for a bit as if he was KO'd...it was strange.  Then he got up and threw his goggles, and missed.
