First off I would like to thank everyone who attended and participated in the wave. My buddy and I got it started in section 401 (left field) and after several attempts it was a success. It went around the stadium several times, both upper and lower decks. We were pretty stoked since a lot of my friends wanted no part of trying to get it started, until it gained momentum. Then of course everyone was all in. I must say one of you guys from each City needs to make it happen in your stadium. It's a bit awkward at first but persistence will pay off. All the little kids around you will be so pumped as they feel responsible for getting it going.
-It was an awesome day at the stadium, the pits were packed, and it was 80 degrees with a nice breeze
-Feld must have gotten the memo that the music was too loud for A1, because it was definitely not loud for A2. I would say it was perfect.
-$50 parking and expensive beers, but I already knew that and don't mind paying that for Supercross.
-I'm surprised a lot of the riders don't wear gloves in the pits with everything that's going around right now. I would think they would wear gloves so when a fan shakes their hand they aren't getting sick from it.
-I'm not sure if it's been discussed anywhere but there were massive boos for Jett during opening ceremonies. It was loud, very loud. As if the whole stadium was boo'ing him and no one was cheering
-When Jett went down there were tons of people cheering. Hopefully everyone is past this incident now, I think Jett got the message. I think the Boo'ing was excessive and I hope it won't follow suit in Detroit.
-I was a bit toasted during the night show but it seemed like a great night of racing to me. Anderson was hauling ass, and so was Tomac in the last moto. Jett obviously was flying too but if you attended the race and tracked him you would have seen all his close calls. If he keeps going down like that he's eventually going to get an injury. In fact it looked like he hurt his hip in his crash.
-We are all so lucky to have all the top guys still in the mix. It's still anyone's game.
-The gear companies did it again with releasing cool one-off gear they don't sell to the public. This is a huge miss for them as it seems like this is the only gear I seem to like these days.
-The leader lights are great. This is the first race I've been to with leader lights and when someone hands you a beer or distracts you it's easy to find the leader again.
-Overall a good experience and no complaints. The stadium looked packed to me with a mix of families and traditional moto heads. Parking lot was full, no issues with tailgating.
-I took some photos of qualifying and the pits. I'll post more when I have time.
Is it ok if I dm you about photography? Also one thing I wish we had more info about is the times of the autograph sessions and if you need a wrist band or ticket to meet the riders(which feels exclusive but I understand the idea).
You are the Man, thank you.
Thanks for sharing!! We were in section 245 and participated in your wave!
Nice pics man what is your rig set up?

Wow....you have talent with the lens man....
Was my first time to California and we had a great time. I thought for the most part everyone was in fairly good behavior and just having fun. Was cool to see such good racing. Also the place runs like a well oiled machine. The contra flow leaving was great.
Yes, you can dm me. Photography has been discussed here in depth if you search for some of the photo threads. There's many ways to skin the cat so you will often get different opinions from everyone you talk to.
As for the autograph sessions, I have no idea what time they were scheduled but I saw very long lines at every rig. I think you just have to stand in the long line and wait your turn. I don't believe there were wrist bands or tickets to get autographs but I could be wrong.
I wasn't using my normal kit that I use for moto. I've shot Canon for 20+ years paired with the 300 f/2.8, 135 f/2, 50 f/1.8, and 35 f/1.4 for moto. I transitioned to mirrorless and settled on R5's for my primary bodies because I shoot a lot of other stuff besides moto. If I was full time moto I would shoot with a 1DXII or or R3, but at A2 I didn't have a press pass so they only let me in the stadium with an R5 and a 70-200.
Thanks Magoofan, I didn't have much to work with since I was shooting from a seat in the stands behind the area where all the photographers shoot from. So between the AMA officials, flaggers, tuff blocks, and photographers being in my way I only had a couple angles to work with and I didn't have the right lens for it. Same with the pits, the long autograph lines were blocking the view of the Factory unobtanium and riders.
A few more of the the pits and the only angles I had from my seat:
Whoa Vital, there's a coding issue with the site. I did not upload those 3 Cudby shots. I have uploaded those screen shots of Roczen in the past here on a Suzuki thread but for some reason it's showing those instead of the photos I uploaded. That is so strange. I will rename the first few and try to upload again to see what happens. This has happened once before recently when I uploaded a batch of other photos, the site put one in there that I have never seen or uploaded before.
Let's try uploading the first 3 again with a different name...
What's even more strange is when I try to edit the post and delete the Cudby photos it shows the three photos I just uploaded above. It's definitely a coding issue, not user error.
One last thing...for everyone else browsing here what happens when you click on the first Cudby photo to enlarge it? Does it show Roczen giving the peace sign in the pits? It does for me. Same with the other two below it.
same for me, phantom Cudby pics won't leave
but when I click them I get your pics..
Fantastic work.
clicking brings up the right photo's, same 3 that you posted after the post in question.
Always enjoy when people post their observations, especially if I havent attended the race. And they let you in with your lens. Rock on. Nice shots.
What a great series it has been so far. A bottleneck in points is a fan’s delight

Anyone else getting Arai / Stanton vibes from Hampshire's helmet paint at A2?
I was there for the first time since A1 2023. It was a great event! I sat in the 535 section. I was skeptical when Mathilde sent me free tickets and saw the section number but view was amazing! Didn't buy food nor drinks in the stadium, I grabbed a couple waters at the KTM hospitality, so my only expense was parking... It was $50. It's 20 bucks for general parking at a baseball game and $30 for preferred. I pay $30 in a brand new parking garage for a NBA game 50 yards from Crypto Arena. An Angel Stadium worker said the Stadium charges the SX promoter $20 for parking meaning Feld takes home $30 of it? If that's the case, that's not cool...
Man, if Feld is doing that with parking, that is bullshit. I can see a point where fewer and fewer people will attend when the fleecing reaches a certain point. Talk about shooting themselves in the foot.
i'm curious how easy it is to follow the Triple Crown points when you're in the stadium..... do they have it on a big screen? is the stadium announcer doing his job, or do you just have to get your own calculator out and have the memory of an elephant?
it's always a tough mission for the MXON race 3, and the WSX in Cardiff was basically impossible to know who won, so just wondering what it's like and how they do it in Anaheim?
Same for me when I click on it.
Yes, they had a revolving graphic on the Jumbotron that switched between the current race leaders and the current triple crown points leaders. The commentators were also talking about it "if they finish like this, then the top three will be".....they did a good job with it at the stadium.
A few more
ah cool.... good to hear
i feel like they could do a better job on the TV broadcast with showing the points situation more often, especially in the third moto
Thanks for sharing. When you say “Parking lot was full, no issues with tailgating” what sort of issues do you mean?
