Even if he came in second in the series to Tomac, that would still have been one of the best rookie seasons . If he got second at every round and Tomac was perfect. What other rookie's have been on the podium every round? and finished no worse than second ?   And how is being on that list not Impressive?   Really being impressive is subjective and only an opinion anyway.

Who is Your favorite rider and what have they done to impress You?

LOL, If you read my post again You will see that I also ask how being listed with those other racers is not impressive. And   I was not implying he was the only racer to ever do anything. I was showing You  it would still be one of the all time great rookie seasons.

You could also argue that RC and Dungey had it easy in their rookie seasons. RC with the past seasons champ riding a Farewell tour with his #1 plate. Windham having finished 8th the year before , Laroco and others being close to retiring.

Dungey had Metcalf second a rider who only won a single national his entire career,  Short 3rd who never won a 450 national and only a handful of small bore nationals.

You could argue they both had weak or depleted classes. But they were healthy, they raced everybody who showed up in their class. I'm not going to put an asterisk on either of those seasons. Sometimes a racer can be so good that he makes his competition look weak. Like RC dominating made everybody else look slow.

But that still doesn't take away from Jett being on a very short list of all time great racers. And if that is not impressive You have very high expectations for Jett.

Again, when did I ever say his season wasn't impressive?? It is one of only 4 perfect outdoor seasons, of course it's impressive. I merely said people need to stop using that as the expectation for SX. Don't try to put words in my mouth

Also, LaRocco retired 6 years after RC's rookie 250/450 season so idk wtf you're talking about there, lol. He was 29 years old during that outdoor season, same age as Tomac was in 2022 when he won everything.

Oh btw you forgot to mention RC had to race Tortelli, one of the best outdoor riders in the world at the time

RC had very stiff competition in 2000, silly to pretend he didn’t. Seb was legit.

And that Kawi was a turd

I was just saying that You could argue that it was not a higher level of competition than what Jett faced.  Not that I agreed with that argument.

How exactly can you argue that?? RC faced Tortelli, Windham, DV, the previous champ in Albertyn, 2x champ LaRocco, John Dowd, Robbie Reynard who was fast as hell, etc.

That 2000 outdoor season was stacked and RC still dominated and locked it up early, like he did every single year.

He makes a lot of assumptions. I don't think he pays that close attention to what is actually being said either. He is too busy trolling my facebook page so he can make ridiculous/nonsense/non pertaining comments and put me down..

Only thing I said about the outdoors was that You keep saying to not factor that in.

The only reason I had asked what other rookies had done that, was to put Jetts name beside the others that had done that and show how small of a list it is.

And if You do not factor in Jetts 450 races what made you think that he should be so much better , to the point that his current results have not been impressive.  But I guess You are too busy arguing to realize that You said that.

Cooper Webb has never finished top 5 in 450 outdoors but he's a 2-time SX champ. SX is different and so far Jett has 1 podium in 4 races....not very impressive

Mcgrath had 0 wins from his first 8 races.

Carmichael had 0 wins from his first 18 races.

Jett goes 1 from 4 and everyone claims he has no hope.

Just some facts. Not claiming he can or will get there. But after 8 races no1 would have thought mc would have got to 72.

Throw in it took RC4 how many seasons to win a SX title?

Aaron Plessinger and Dylan Ferrandis are the only riders who are currently in the top 10 points standings, who haven't been lapped!

The following top 10 riders have been lapped...

Chase Sexton

Cooper Webb

Jett Lawrence

Eli Tomac

Jason Anderson

Ken Roczen

Justin Barcia

Jorge Prado

That's a choice.

Jett decided to go pro at 16.

His year at aged 16 had 1 win.

He won the mx title in his second year at 17 turning 18.

That's the same as carmichael.

But ppl say ahhhh jett wasn't as good in the 125/250 class coz he won nothing in his rookie year. And that puts his overall stats behind carmichael on the 250.

But then carmichael decided to go 250sx earlier. And the excuse for jett going to early and not being valid is acceptable for carmichael? You can't have it both ways.

Ricky said multiple times he wishes he stayed down longer and expressed that to the lawrence who decided to stay down.

It is what it is. That's there 450 class records at that time. It doesn't matter if your 16 or 26.

Where are the Lawrence fans saying he was going to dominate for the next ten years? 🤣🤷🏼‍♂️

Yea, and supposedly  he was only riding around at 90% at A1.  What happened?

RC was a pretty good rider( 4th all-time 250/450SX wins) and it took him 16 races before he got a podium in 250/450SX . So Jett is already way ahead of RC there. I think there is more to show that Jett will end up being an all time great rider as long as he stays healthy, than there is to show that he will only do well outdoors.

It's awesome to see Anderson riding so well. Last night he looked really good.  And it was funny to see Jett line up next to Jason in every main. I think it was all of them.  I think Jett was doing that to show he was not rattled by last week. But to me it looked like he was trying too hard to show it did not bother him. I think that he may have had some worry in the back of his mind. Or maybe wanted to get any " payback" out of the way as soon as possible. This season is shaping up to be a great one for people who like not knowing who the winner will be before the gate drops. And AP still with the red plate.

Gee, might be because RC moved up after only 2 years in the 125 class instead of 3 like Jett. Probably had something to do with having a perfect SX season on 125s in 1998, something Jett never accomplished either

RC has said many times if he could change one thing about his career he would've stayed down on 125s 1 more year in Supercross

You know, I bet that Jett agrees with you on his results not being that great. If you take away the perfect outdoor season from Jett, what else has he done that would put such high expectations on him that winning his first race in the class, ( like You said outdoors is different) having a bad race in the mud, finishing 4th after coming from last, then being less than a lap from finishing second overall and in that main. Still being only 8 points out of the lead. Remove that perfect outdoor season like you claim shouldn't matter. And how is what he has done , not impressive in anyway?

I think its too early in Jett's racing to say if he will be an all timer in the record books when he is done racing. I would lean towards him being on the list. But only time will tell.  And it appears like You have high expectations for him as well. Otherwise even comparing him to RC nevermind having to not count RC's first 2 years in the class to level out the stats in Your mind, tells me You feel like Jett is on his way.

I think that we still have not seen enough of Jett in SX to say he's not going to win a lot. And that when Jett is all done, he will reflect back at this time and say how it helped him out in the long run.

Very sensible post The Real sasquatch.

Bad luck to a degree along with mud races.  Tomac has not won a race yet. only a triple crown main. And I'm not going to write off Tomac. The guy who everybody is saying is going to be the one Jett needs to worry about.  The guy that is 3 points behind Jett. That same guy who is second on the all time SX wins list.    Eli has a triple crown win and 2 second overalls.  He got lapped just like all the title contenders have.  I'm not ready to write any of those guys off just yet.  Too early, and 2 many mud races.

Of the 4 races,  2 were mud races  and 1 triple crown. Mud  races and triple crowns tend to have stuff that is not common, or normal happen.  Lets see how things are after another 4 rounds. Too soon to give anybody the title or write off anybody in my opinion.

I do think that this thread will get to 72 pages before another racer gets 72 wins.

1000s of fans show more resentment to Jett then Anderson does.

There's so much that doesn't make sense.

So marchabanks loses his shit and throws his goggles at yoda. But no one cares.

Kenny calls out noren for a cross jump on insta and saying he is going to bash him etc. And it's kinda unheard from other than some ppl say ohhh he should have been a man and confronted noren not blown him out on insta.

Jett has an issue with Anderson. Stops to have a word with him. It escalates from jett saying something to Anderson giving it back to jett grabbing his helmet and Anderson doing it back.

But all the mx fans blow up on jett for doing what they say Kenny should have done. And at the end off the day all 3 things are pretty similar.

1000's ? Did you do a poll or pass around a petition? It's just a bunch of keyboard warriors flapping their gums on a moto forum lol.

The Jett/Ando thing is completely different than any of your other listed altercations.     Jett's original actions were completely out of line.   That's not what this thread was about...the story here is that his handlers did the apology and were protecting the kid.       Ando exposed this BS.

FYI - I was one of the people who slammed Kenny for his outburst toward Freddie....it was chicken shit.  ...but at least it was Ken doing the chicken shit social media "I'll kick your ass" and not his entourage.

If you can't see the difference, you're blind.

It's going to be a long season and I can't wait to see what's in store.

Can we get this to page 40 now.?
