Asked pre-race about doing one with Jett, I was told no. Given a little info from their end but was told they didn't want to play he said she said. Even speaking to Anderson after the race he pretty much had moved on and didn't care.

30 pages of an echo chamber. For our niche sport, it was "big news" and quite a bit of drama. When that happens in most sports, the media asks questions. I figured HRC would stonewall...just wanted to confirm. And wanted to confirm our media would LET HRC stonewall.
yeah, i snorted when they showed Jett studying his gate selection while the 1st 250 race was ongoing. They want this kid to be the ANOINTED ONE sooooooooo badly...makes me dislike him even more.

you mean like what you said about Friese, and then a kid with an iphone showed up and just started asking questions? I know it's a fist-bump relationship you have to maintain but for the 100th time, if Jett wants to promote his stupid fucking donuts or "fan zone", then he should be FORCED to talk to the media, not hide behind his daddy.

You do understand in this niche sport that if they push too hard the riders are allowed to just be little bitches and not talk at all right?
How do you suggest the media guys overcome the fact that these riders have pussy little egos and will just not talk at the first sign of adversity?
I am not going to walk up to a rider with a live camera rolling like TMZ. That’s so god damn unprofessional. I will go to their representative, team pr person or rider themself if available and tell them I’d like to question them about insert subject here. If they agree, then we get the recorder on and off we go. If they say no way, I don’t want to, then that’s a “no comment” situation. Plain and simple. You come across as so bitter with the “hide behind his daddy” comment.

Hate him as much as we want, but Gypsy dropped a JA interview right before the night show that covered the situation better than any current moto journalist could do. Moto media walks on eggshells.
Myself, Lewis, and other media members had a conversation with our Feld press relations contact as we were leaving the pits last night about how the lack of any consequences for teams or riders to do a minimum amount of PR is negitavely effecting our ability to do our job and lowering the standards in media. We all agree what the problem is, but solutions are thin unless Feld lays down some more requirements or some further changes in how press requests are dealt with in teams. Certain teams have more professional pr agents over others as well.
Jason was willing to do a separate sit down with him away from the races due to their relationship. Good on Jace for building up those bonds and friendships. It goes a long ways.
