What's everyone think of how terrible the factory hondas looked off the start last night? Crazy how all 3 factory Hondas had so much wheelspin off the line, especially when you remember how Jett's bike in particular is usually a rocket in the first 30 feet.
My theory is that Honda has developed an extremely effective launch control that works great in normal conditions, but the riders are so used to being able to just hold it wide open and dump the clutch that when it gets slippery, they can't get off the line.
What do you all think?
Beyond the mechanics taking a rag or brush to them, are the grates prepped at all between heats? Expanded steel isn’t gonna give much traction with 1/2” of snot packed over the top of it.
I think the flux capacitor was set at 7.2 gigawatts & that’s about 3 too many.
But, I could be wrong.
You're using old data... boomer!

Why, yes! Yes, I am.
2 rules:
1. You never go “full” whatever…
2. Set everything to ”Analog” in the mud.
"But this one goes to eleven."
That’s because it’s from The Big Room
Lot of variables involved but you may be right. Something is affecting their starts.
I mean what do you expect. They're running three Spoon engines with T66 turbos, NOS and a Motec exhaust.
They have to use the 'Max Anstie' technique, use the concrete launch settings on wet steel grate. If you saw it, you know.
100% they have an excellent launch control that is perfectly in dry conditions.
There wet launch control is shit. They will be soaking the start straight and gates and tuning a better map
This is my favorite post ever
Tires were too new...
Damn, and I thought all the wheel spinning last night was from the all the mud.
their bikes were too stiff. maybe they need less anti squat through either a swingarm pivot adjustment or change in countershaft sprocket size.
If I had to guess, they are running the start map on a rate of change table. Meaning it will limit timing(or another parameter) to only allow X amount of rpm change in X amount of time. Think of it like a time based rev limiter. It works really well when tuned correctly, but tuning one is a test of patience of the highest order. If the riders are used to that launch technique then turning it off or trying untested parameters (muddy grate and wet plastic on the gate) it can be worse than not having it at all.
my 2 cents
Front end is pulled down to far for a mud launch
His electronic handicap was wide open, surprisingly they didn’t figure it out for the main
Could definitely be a factor.
