Apart from where ppl think he should stack up in a deep field and whether around 13th is where hed be… one thing thats definitely noticeable is both mookie and craigs insane whoop speeds have dropped off precipitously since going to the husky.
From the Husky Team.
“The day started pretty good with qualifying in P11,” Craig commented. “I was riding good and felt really strong, but then the rain came down, unfortunately. Got off to a sweet start to the Heat and was running up front for a while, then made a couple of mistakes in the mud, which shifted me back to fifth. I got another good start in the Main, but just cross-rutted in the mud and another rider completely landed on me from behind. It's racing, unfortunately, it took me a while to get going, took a trip to the pits, put my head down and did what I could. Another bad result, but we’ll put our heads down for A2.”
The bike obviously doesn't perform like the other Austrian teams.
Kind of fitting that he quit during San Diego while wearing gear inspired by a football team who also quit on San Diego.

So, he got landed on, probably took a moment to gather himself which put him way behind. Bike was probably bent which makes it hard to ride mud ruts. Pulled into the mechanics area where his team told him his bike is what it is.
Why putter around on a bent bike in the mud to finish 18th? He will just be another guy getting lapped,... probably a couple times, possibly getting in the way of the leaders and effing up their race.
I'd pull in too.
He SHOULD have defended his 250 Title and got another year of confidence in winning. He went to the absolute WORST 450 Factory team. He and Mookie both look horrible in the whoops on those things. Chad Reed was in the LCQ every race the year he was on one. Switched to Suzuki and got on the Podium. The Austrian bikes may be ok outdoors, but they are not Supercross bikes in this day and age.
Sounds like he will be ok and back next week which is great news, with better weather!
However…sucks some dude landed on him from behind, went down hard, while cuming untucked.
Tomac had a crash that set him back to last, yet he went back and finish the race while getting lapped. That is the difference between a champion and Craig.
The only reason Craig did well as a fill in rider is in my opinion, that he had a sense of confidence in him because back then as full time 250 rider he was riding up front. He is such a mental head case. Once he turned 450 rider, he is not at the front and just pulls out by the slightest reason. This week he might get a pass (a rider landed on him) but next week or any given weekend could be for whatever reason.
What about KTM winning the last two races and JB51 on the podium?
Bold claim given they are 1st and 2nd in the points standings. lol
Also the year Chad Reed was on a Husky guess who won the championship and on what bike? lol
All crashes are not equal. None of us knows which rider hit harder or had a bike more bent up as a result. So how can we compare Tomacs race and Craigs?
This thread has basically been a pile on from the get go. Not sure if there is just a general resentment of Christian for a few reasons or what it is.
More then likely, his results, if they continue to be outside the top ten will get him dropped from the team at the end of the season as it should. Until then, can we get off the guys neck? Whats the obsession with shitting on the guy?
Since 2015 they've won 6 out of 9 450 SX Championship.
I keep hearing this but RJ's whoop speed on the 450 was not an issue.
Pretty sure Tomac is the one that landed on Craig.
They have won 3 since 2018 and it wasn’t because of their whoop speed. 2018, 2019 and 2021 were won because Tomac brain farted to many times, NOT because they had an exceptional bike.
Craig and Malcolm are not having a good start to the year
Tomac's tranny was jacked. I would imagine he had no shifting. Be interesting to know the circumstances.
Pit Row
Phil alluded to all the Yamaha’s having transmission issues this year.
Ya that was pretty odd to see. Wonder if something happened in the crash.
I'm not saying your wrong but how can you tell? We've had one dry track and has Craig been shown on TV at all?
Don't know if I'm right but... Has anybody else noticed that ever since KTM bought GasGas, Husqvarna has been pushed to the side?? A few years ago they lost Rockstar as title Sponsor in every racing series except SMX, they didn't have a Factory Team in MXGP, and eversince KTM bought GasGas, their SMX results haven't been great, RedBull seems very close to GasGas, and for me the most important fact is that KTM Group has KTM and GasGas on MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3, all teams have of KTM and GasGas have RedBull as their Title Sponsors, meanwhile Husqvarna is only in Moto2 and Moto3.
How are the bikes sales inside the KTM group? Is Husqvarna strugling financially? Does GasGas really sell more than Husqvarna? Because I think that the perforamance of Rockstar Husqy on track might be related to bike sales, compared to the success KTM and GasGas have been having the last few years...
He did, ET was already in the air when CC came across his line and landed on his bike
The guy is a rolling disaster.
With how bad the bikes looked at A1 this could be a thing. Maybe it’s not at all and it’s just Stew and Craig having issues setting the bike up, but I’m really curious to see some more dry rounds and how they do because the bikes looked really really bad at A1
Did he quit?
I saw him go into the pit lane, fix a few things, and go back out…?

I don’t really have an opinion on it husky is getting pushed to the side in MX/SX, but it seems like they sell WAY more trail bikes than KTM. A lot of my friends and friends of friends have bought brand new $10k+ Here in the PNW. Not sure what it’s like in other parts of the county. But for everyone I see with a new ktm there are 5 other guys on the new white bikes.
Its his history of quitting and pulling off that's the problem.
I guess you didnt watch any SXs from last season.
Hence why his yamaha contract had a clause in it for him pulling off and quitting
