I really enjoy his take on stuff! He doesn’t get all caught up in the emotions and what he wants out of moto. Just tell the story.

What Weege doesn’t seem to understand is it’s not hate on Jett, it’s frustration with the media. I don’t remember Dave Despain, Art Eckman or David Bailey anointing MC or RC as being the best that ever swung a leg after such a short time at the beginning of their careers.
There’s no denying that the 18 is doing incredibly so far, but to start the GOAT or King talk after ONE SX win is way too premature, IMO.

The media has to lean into Jett. He’s the most marketable rider by far. If he hadn’t just swept the outdoor series the hype would be less.  And unfortunately for everyone else he has phenomenal technique and creativity on the track

he brings eyes to the sport which is what his team and sponsors and TV producers want.  The rubber is really going to hit the road when Haiden moves to 450. It’s going to be the biggest rivalry the sport has seen in decades.

And then some unknown rider like a Dungey, and comes in and changes the narrative.

Quite possibly. Hopefully that happens because the 450 field is going to take a massive hit. Webb, Tomac, Anderson, mookie, Roczen, Craig, Wilson, barcia, AC are all in the twilight of their careers. It’s crazy but most of the 450 field is 30+. As loaded as the field is now it’s going to be depleted in a year or two. There’s not a lot of elite talent in the 250 class that’s going to move up soon. Sexton is about to be his only competition.

Ah...so if you aren't on the Jett train, you are not core and don't appreciate his holiness...same as McGrath a hundred years ago. Interesting. (Here come the thumbs down from the core broz)

I like Weege, I hate when he does videos like this. To me it comes across as talking down on the fans of the sport, trying to over simplify, and stating his opinion of a situation as if it is fact. Kinda like when he goes on and on about how the broadcast is as good as it could possibly be and the fans are wrong for complaining about it. Jett is totally different than MC and ET based on media presence alone.

I’m one of the people that’s been wanting to see anybody BUT him win since he was a 250 rider, that fan perspective didn’t exist for the other two until years into their 450 careers. There will be no “circle” for me, when I heard “Friese cuts across and takes down Lawrence” I was very disappointed to see the 96 down instead of 18. And I know there are plenty of us here that feel the same way.

I can appreciate what a super talent he is sure, but when that helmet comes off I cringe at every word. And his fans are worse than he is.

What kind of Floppa thinks it is cool to throw gang signs while sitting on the line waiting to get lapped by his C Grade competition Laughing

I hope you get taken out before the first corner every single race from now on Creature and I am so happy to know that you are not going to enjoy any race for the next 10 years plus because my favourite rider Jett is going to win 72 plus race's before he sails off into the sunset Laughing Yeah Boi!!!!

Why not just enjoy the racing and not pay too much attention to what somebody else is saying about it? I really don't see why people get so hung up on this stuff.

I like Weege, but I don't agree totally with his take.  It's definitely the circle of life, but the hype train around the Lawrence brothers is over the top.  No doubt Jett is the guy to beat, will be for some time, the family story is awesome, etc, but anytime you apply this much hype and attention to anyone, no matter how great, it gets tiresome.

This perception that Lawrence hype is over the top doesn't track for me. Any rider that's done what Jett has the last couple years would obviously get a ton of attention. Hunter's received more press than most 250 regional and national champs would get, but the fact that they're winning way more than any brother combo ever is also newsworthy. Anybody that attempts to downplay Jett's accomplishments in this sport at age 20 needs to give their head a shake.

Might be waiting forever...

Not saying it won't happen. We need to see more. Early days yet.

East SX is going to be real tight this year I think.

Again.  Nobody is questioning the kids accomplishments.  This isn't' about hype.   It's about 24/7 in your face over-exposure and overbearing douche fans.      Happens in every sport.     They shove someone down your throat until you just want to switch the channel.

I don’t see a lot of Jett fans speaking out?  Where are you hearing/finding these people?

The Deegan fans on the other hand are very loud
