its interesting actually, I’ve done a bunch of reading into Shimoda background, he always seemed like an enigma to me

In his podcast with Gypsy, he basically said he’s never loved riding. In his words, He never woke up and wanted to ride. He just does it because he’s good at it and his Dad really wanted him to. He’s stated that he’s just trying to ride a couple years retire by age 28 and go back to Japan. He said he’s never really watched the sport either. I think collectively, you can see from his instagram and his videos he’s usually pretty carefree with his training. He eats McDonald’s throughout the season, clearly doesn’t work out much hence why he’s so skinny, and lack the racecraft probably bc he doesn’t rlly watch the sport
