San Francisco Mudder?

Free practice canceled per SMX Twitter

If it pans out with moderate amounts of rain I can see the schedule getting cut back to one timed qualifying. This is what happened at Seattle in 2018, which was an epic mudder. IMO full on mud races suck. Slightly muddy, sticky races like A1 in 2019 or Seattle in 2013 are usually very entertaining. I'm hoping we get the latter.

Seems like they are jumping the gun. Some of the models show the heavy rain staying north of the bay and San Francisco staying out of it completely or only getting light rain.

And they used to not even postpone those 10 years ago 😂

It’s all about liability.  It’s not about rain anymore they blame it on LIGHTNING .  There was an auto race where someone got struck by lightning and died trying to get to their parked car.  Owners of race got sued for lack of proper warning.

AMA and FELD don’t want any lawsuits.  As we saw in NJ last year “omg everyone take shelter now!” Half those poor fan left the arena in fear, they didn’t think the race would resume”

round 2 of Supercross was cancelled and rescheduled last year due to rain.  I hope it doesn’t happen this year.  MEDIA AND PRESS DAY WERE CANCELLED TODAY

Jason Weigant said Media and press day was cancelled too.  But he admitted being told there are CLEAR SKIES at the track right now, but they “want to cover and preserve the track”

Yep, full on mud SX races are boring.  When the best SX riders in the world are waddling around with their  feet off the pegs not jumping  anything,  it just isn't  worth watching  to me.

I disagree.  This was one of my ALL TIME favorite SX races and it was pure mud.

I stood in the rain the entire race too!  Most the arena ran for the covers so i got free front row seats

and I know Daytona isn’t pure Supercross, but the 2008 race was probably the best Daytona I’ve ever seen!

An option for it to not be a disaster is practice and qualifying 7AM-10AM and races 11AM-2PM.

The only reason last year was cancelled was because they couldn't build the track due to heavy rain the whole week before. Supercross has never been cancelled due to rain once the track was built!

0.5" total is the part I don't understand. Lite, medium.or heavy rain?

Right? .5” over a 15 hour period won’t create horrible conditions. .5” in a 2 hour period like NJ last year would be rough.
