Plain and simple: how much the victories of RC evetually increased the RM-Z 450 sales? What's your take? Here in Italy we love RC but you see red almost everywhere at the local tracks...
Same with Everts after all... Blink

Same here, not much RMZ around in the Netherlands.
It's all Honda's and some Yamaha's.

RC winning sure has not much affect on Suzuki bike sales in Europe.

I can't speak for everyone, but when I have boucht bikes in the past, who rode them was never a factor in the purchase.

I rode Honda the most because they were well built, easy to work on, and I had a good dealer close by who gave me a discount.

Many use those factors, and magazine tests as a measuring stick to pick one bike over another.

Also, getting to throw a leg over and ride one before you buy helps a ton.

As far as RM'Z, not really that much. Its really hard to quantify how much a winning rider can help a company. RC's worth is more a company image type of thing and in that respect, he has really helped. You dont hear much "Suzuki curse" or how Mcgrath was screwed by Suzuki much anymore. The image of the company is improved and new riders and kids never remember those kinds of thoughts, just that RC kicked ass on a yellow bike. Must be a pretty good bike.

Suzuki hasn't done too badly in the last two Nationals, sweeping both the 250F and 450F classes.

The team mechanics especially get a kick out of the 250F wins. One of them told me with an amused smirk, "How can we possibly be winning? Everyone knows you can't win without an aluminum frame."

about a month ago my honda rep was here and brought in some national numbers from honda. actaully suzuki isn't far behind yamaha in total off road/motocross sales. i think RC has infact picked up their business. the best part of those numbers....honda's crf450 alone outsold yamaha's entire motocross line!

I'm sure that Honda re-value kits did as well...
