It was the other heat-race that, apparently - had some action that should have
been featured = if you can only air one.
No mention (that I heard) of CHAD REED's omission from the line-up ?
No mention of LCQ ? Less talk, more racing.
Flashing back to a battle for 5-6 th ?
Only One (1) blurting of " No Doubt About It " ?
It's 2010 and we STILL hafta watch later ?
Disgusted in Fly-Over Country - r- Sir Bitch-A-Lot
I am happy to have it to complain about
I'm pretty sure last year they missed almost all the crucial stuff and had to show it on replay...
What the hell ever happened to Picture in Picture... And... I don't need to see Erin to listen to her comments trackside... They don't show Ralph... Stay with the racing, with a insert vid of the big riders who have had bad starts...
There's sooooo much room for improvement...

Jimi - we've been content to tolerate sub-par and sporadic TV coverage for better than a
decade now - or MORE.
It's time we rise up, grab burning limbs, agitate the peasants, surround the moats
and spray WD-40 into the air like it's confetti.
Pants on the ground,
SUPERCROSS should be a SATURDAY night TV STAPLE AND phenomenon in
housesholds across America. And it's not. We've let down our sport . Our fault.
Found myself checking out some boxing after the race and the background stories(fluff) helped, is that how new moto fans feel about the rider bios(fluff)???
The heat race with Stroupe, Stewart, Hill, and Short was action packed!!
They barely showed any of it!
It is what it is though..
Makes me appreciate the work that MX sports and everybody did on the nationals last year, with detailed coverage of the sport and diverse coverage of the races.
If you're so brilliant at television, why don't you submit a resume to CBS, Speed or Feld, and try your hand at it, and see how easy you think it is then. I'm sure you won't "miss every pass each race" because you know exactly how to do it. You talk the talk, so try walkin' the walk. I'm sure your mantle will be packed with Emmy's in no time.
More cameras cost more money, it's that simple. Even NASCRAP is cutting back, so be thankful for what you have and quit your bitching. There aren't 20 cameras to cover every bike, so you're obviously not going to get everything. Give Feld, SPEED & CBS some credit. The motorcycle industry isn't exactly raking in the big bucks at the moment, and they are taking a big chance on motorcycle racing. You want to go back to ESPN and wait 2 weeks to see it?
There is always room for improvement, but be thankful for what you have, and quit whining.
There was plenty of floor perspective in my opinion, and the camera guys on the floor are risking life and limb to get those shots, I would imagine. It has to be dangerous out there.
Just like Crush, the television expert, you should submit your resume to CBS, SPEED & Feld, then we can see how the real experts do things.
I can't believe how whiney you guys are. If you don't like it, don't watch. Get out your little diecast bikes and you can have your own little race and not get a nose bleed from the camera angles.
Pit Row
And you missed my point... Does showing the pit party, comparable to every other sport motor sport around the world help bring in new fans?!?!?!
NO...
But what would, would be to get some more people watching, by having better coverage that shows all the racing... and all the passes... and all the accidents... More cameras might cost more... but you can't seriously tell me Feld is doing that bad!?!?! Have you ever thought about how much their pyro-show costs?!?! Give me some more cameras all day...
As for waiting two weeks, i'm in Australia, and it makes no fucking difference to me at all... I'd just rather they quit the celebrity lifestyle aspect which most fans, ESPECIALLY the new ones, who don't even know who these riders are, don't give a crap about...
As for it "Going away"... Umm... When was the first SX held?!?! It's not going anywhere... don't be so ignorant... The money making corporate machine is doing fine...
SHOW THE RACING! The product will do the rest...
I can't speak for Feld. Are they hurting? Probably not, but I'm sure they are cutting back like everyone else. They do so much more than supercross, and the shows they provide certainly aren't cheap. High def cameras are expensive to rent, plus an operator, hotel, rooms, travel. per diem, etc. It's not that simple to just add cameras. You're in advertising, surely you have some concept of a budget.
The whole premise of building up a sport is to build stars and heroes. You have to show the new guys to the audience and at least attempt to make stars out of them. No stars, no fans. If some of the new guys with talent and a personality are given a chance, maybe people will give a crap about them. There was a point in time when nobody gave a crap about McGrath, Carmichael, Reed & Stewart. Can you wrap your advertising mind around that fact. Everybody starts out as a nobody.
The "going away" comment was for CBS only. Of course the sport won't go away, but it very well could go back to extremely undesirable air times, on less than desirable networks. Ok, so you don't care because you live in Australia. Fine. But I live in America, and I do care. The Australian supercross series isn't even on tv here, so I could care less about that too. Funny that you call me ignorant. You stated that "the money making corporate machine is doing fine." That was ignorant. Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, Dunlop Tires, and the list goes on, have pulled out all their support for AMA road racing. I like road racing too, but don't tell me the money making corporate machine is doing fine. Tell that to all the mechanics & riders who are out of work. Maybe things are ok in OZ, but it's not so great here. Look up the bike sales numbers on the internet, Mr. Advertising, and tell me about the large number of motorbikes being sold at the moment.
I know some guys on the camera crew, and they're doing the best they can, and they actually give a shit, so I'm standing up for them. They could get hurt or even killed doing their job, so give them a break. Especially the guys on the floor. There isn't one area of the floor that is 100% safe, and they risk it to give the audience the best shots they can. There are only so many places a body can stand out there.
have you been on the floor during a race? Then you'd now what I was talking about.
Despite the complaints, keep watching!!
Foster's I think is growing less popular each year, its uncommon to see it on tap at a bar.
Oh and welcome to motodrive. Its nice to see that the odd noob can post something more then a paragraph long!
I thought the coverage was great.
