So, I just read where the FIM was going to allow Taddy to race the Stark then a day before the first race they decided to not let him. The source was Dirt Rider, and they said the Stark was a U.S. bike mfg., so that's suspect.

The article says he packed up and went home.

They said it was some sort of safety concern. It sounds fishy to me, and why couldn't they make a decision like that before he traveled to the race?

Also broski, he was barred from racing SuperEnduro, not Endurocross.  We actually have a member here that raced an Endurocross round on an electric bike.

Ty Tremaine even podiumed the pro class on an Alta back in 2018. Endurocross has no problem with E-bikes, it’s just the FIM.

FIM pulled the shady BS (to the surprise of nobody), AMA endurocross very specifically says in their rule book that electric bikes are welcome in all classes.  It’s a great format of racing to try integrating them since power is almost irrelevant and the sport is so rider dependent.  It also helps that the original creator of Endurocross is very interested in the electric side of things and I believe has a hand in the E-Xplorer championship as well.

Looks like ALL ebikes have been removed from allowable machines that can be ridden in that branch of the sport, an extra "Fire Mashall" was mentioned, maybe battery fires are a concern?

I think that is the main concern. It's not political.

Look at what Honda said, without proper training you can not touch the bike as a mechanic.

So rapid explosive fire is one issue, the other is staff and crew are not trained to handle it if it goes sideways.

Pretty rational thing, specially when bikes are new and unproven as products.

You always jump on folks like this? You've been a member since 2023 and @SEEMEFIRST has been around longer than most folks on here have been alive. You're a sad sac!

Spot on! Brandon and I miss seeing you on the line at VC. Hope all is well! Gad to change the name as Guy cut me a year or so ago. Formerly WFO.

It was kinda of funny 😎

Safety concern? They need to see the Grenaded 2-stroke thread https://www.vitalmx.com/forums/moto-related/grenaded-gasgas-2-stroke

Idk. It is sorta funny and I bet he can handle the joke/dig. Anyway, I can see the ban being lifted sooner than later.

I  miss it too, mostly miss the good folks I met along the way.

Don't miss the asshatery that happens, but most of it was a blast.

15 years, bro, 15!

No, it's cool, buddy.

It was a good one, well deserved, and I can deal with the friendly banter.

Thanks for the back up though.
