I just received this email. Let's all keep this young man in our thoughts and prayers for a full and speedy recovery!

Monday, January 18th, 2010
Riverside, CA.

Parker Porter a TrophyKart (Jr. 1 division) is in "Very Critical Condition" at Loma Linda University Medical Center.

*Parker participated in a Kyle Leduc Kart School held at Milestone MX Park on Saturday, January 16th with his friends and family.

*On Sunday, January 17th he participated in a youth motocross series held on Milestone's race track entering in the 4-stroke 150cc Open class.

Moto one went very well for Parker, and many kids in the 85cc Novice class enjoyed his competitive level, and riding style on the track. - They truly enjoyed Parker as a new racer in the series.

On moto two Parker took a far right-side line on the rhythm section of the Finish line stretch; which near the end of the section has a "kicker" all the way [Again] to the right; which sent Parker into an "endo" of which eyewitnesses said, 'He didn't do anything like panic rev, or anything at all to try to adjust his situation mid-air. He just floated.'

According to collaborative eyewitnesses, Parker landed in a over rotation on his front wheel, went over the bars, landed on his head, then the bike flipped on the top of him, specifically the top of the rear fender (Near the back of the seat) landing in the middle area of his upper back. He did not move from his landing point, and did not regain consciousness.

It's reported that Parker may not have been wearing a Leatt Brace, and there is no speculation at this time that if he was wearing the safety device it may, or may not have helped.

Parker was placed in an induced coma, with brain bleeding. At this time his brain pressure has been stabilized to normal levels; however; there is still a battle to stabilize his blood pressure levels. He is on a aspirator to assist him with breathing as there was unspecified damage to his lung or lungs of which was reported 'could lead to very serious infections'.

Parker's family is with him at the hospital and praying, and as their faith leads them, they are asking for all in the Powerboating, Motorsports, and Powersports community to please pray with them in this time of accident and tragedy.

STAY STRONG PARKER! STAY STRONG FAMILY!

Update:

Quick word is that Parker if off the ventilator and breathing on his own at this time.

That's all the news so far - May hear more later today?

Udate:
From www.race-dezert.com Posted by Kyle LeDuc:

"Well i just got some info from Mike and jen porter and they said things are looking very good for parker. He has started breathing 100% on his own with no machine assistance and today they said will be his toughest day that he will have to go through. They are taking him off of the meds that are keeping him sedated in a coma and they will be removing the system that was placed on his head to help with the bleeding and swelling. I will post more when i know more. I hate to bother them at a time like this but they have been nice enough to keep me and you awarde of his situation. keep it positive!"
