Hey folks. I've picked up a 2000 YZ125 to race our local Pre-2000s class. I want to do a period correct throwback build, but I'm tired of the YoT or DV builds being done 1000x.
Does anyone have any good pictures of that era Yamaha riders for reference? Euro guys? Even FMX guys? Or maybe you've done a cool period build yourself?

Cheers!

claudio federici’s YZ125! I thought they looked so good
Keep them coming guys.
Any of you have pictures of your own bikes from this time period? Post them up too!

Tim Ferry is my favourite rider of all time!
Agree, Ferry was always an underrated rider to me. Glad he got some factory rides later on in his career, certainly earned them.
This plastic kit you can find on Ebay
I believe that was in 98. 97 Anthony A. & Jeff Wiloh rode for Noleen. They ran Noleen shocks . I bought Jeff,s 97 National bike. They ran stock carbon reeds. In 2 classes they only lasted 1 moto. The power carried well into the top. I thought the hit was soft then a decent mid range that carried further than a stock bike. Alot of ovr rev. Lineer power for an 125. Exhaust port was hogged out big time - much larger. My 04 cr125 would rape that bike easily mid to top. Especially through the mid.
You are absolutely correct. 👍 Ferry was on a Suzuki in 97’

That PJ1 YZ would be cool and somewhat easy to do.
+1 on the PJ1 direction
