First incident with Partridge was a huge mistake on James' part. Only Chad could have avoided the second incident, but then he wouldn't have been riding to win. James let his emotions get the best of him in the pits afterwards, but it kinda makes me laugh! I hope we see Chad back as soon as possible. Glad Partridge is ok too. James should ride the second practice for now on, so he knows which way the track goes come heat time! Also hope he learns he's not the only guy on the track, and riding like that will only end up hurting somebody, maybe even him!

Must we really crucify James for knocking over Chads bike? Big deal I say! This is an emotionally charged, and pressure driven sport, and sometimes riders get upset and do irrational things out of frustration. As we know, this happens in all sports from time to time. This wasnt the first time a rider has knocked over another riders bike. I'm willing to bet after cooling off James regrets knocking Chads bike over........but oh well. We have all done retarded things in an angry moment. These guys work hard and have passion for what they do. Shit happens.

From there, I simply rode my best to salvage as many points as possible, and then after the race went straight back to the pits to have a chat with Chad about the incident. To say that I was frustrated at this point would be a huge understatement, so I think it was for the best that Chad, nor anyone from his team, could be found at their truck.

He's had time to cool down and think about things. Does he sound remorseful?
What really ticks me off is that he's not sorry for the bonehead move that could have really hurt Kyle or himself.

hypocrite statement right there.if he has the feeling reed is at any point going to take him out....why did he not let reed take the pass.instead, he through caution to the wind and kept on the gas.
i cant answer for reed s head bitch slap other than his hurt hand trapped under stewart?
go after the rider that did most of your physical damage from the heat race.why reed.
reed is your main competitor for petes sake. of course he is going to be over your shoulder more than anyone.
stewart sounds pretty stupid, sorry to say.

What's he going to do, stop? His pace in the main was 3 seconds off his practice time, Reed was in a position where he absolutely had to get on the box to stay close in the points, yet Reed rode directly behind him for 5 laps in 11th place. Obviously, Reed had some reason to want to stay right behind Stewart, he had dozens of opportunities to pass and he didn't take them.

But whatever. Reed is out of the series, so he dealt out his own punishment, Stewart is 16 points down and banged up, so he's got his own punishment, and Dungey and Villopoto are 1 and 2 in the series because they're just showing up and racing, so that's their reward. It all works out - except for Kyle Partridge, who's the only guy that has a real beef with anything. He's lucky to be alive, from the looks of that wreck.
it was only 5 laps in. stewart could of let reed by if thats what stewart was thinking all that time(a takeout from reed mentality).i cant speak for reed ,but it looked like he was letting stewart set the tempo through the pack.sitting behind stewart till the turn of hell happened.

Stewart is an idiot and a danger to other riders. How many seasons does he have to ruin for other riders before he gets punished?

James Stewart has always projected a latent disrespect for other riders, in my opinion. That sucks, and it may explain why he jumps across the track, hits someone in the air, and then doesn't take a good opportunity to apologize for it. Partridge is lucky he's still walking. Heck, James didn't seem to be upset with himself when he jumped on RC's back at Unadilla, which was one of the nastiest wrecks I ever saw, and one of the dumbest moves in motocross history. At the time, I don't think he even really respected RC. James seems to equate respect with lap times, and since he always has the best lap times, then everyone owes him respect and he owes nobody. That's just my opinion, but it explains a lot.

i said why was he angry at reed's mechanic?

Baloney. Stewart, no matter what anyone says, is the fastest supercross rider ever. If someone doesn't want to watch the guy ride, they must not like this sport very much.

I remember Heikki Mikkola and Bob Hannah - they didn't give the first shit about anyone else, and they were very flawed personalities, but they were also exciting to watch. I'm not trying to get any of these guys to marry my sister, I'm watching them ride motorcycles faster than anyone else can.

10 Points right here...

If Chad really wanted to take Bubba out... He wouldn't have even attempted to get on the breaks or turn the bike... A Grade A T-Bone was only a twist of the throttle away... but he didn't....

Seems like everyone is stating as fact that JS moved over on KP's line. Is this based on the video? I watched it a bunch, but never saw a camera angle that clearly showed JS moving over on KP.

Not saying it didn't happen, but just asking - what is everyone basing it on?

That's what I thought when I watched the race. It looked like he might have moved over a foot or so. He came down almost near the center of the triple not saying that he didn't move over. Also, no one is saying how mudflaps clearly moved over on bannister over the finish line in his heat. I think riders move from one side of the track to the other all of the time. Just like the step on step off section. To hit the two lips on the table tops you had to go from right to left so that's moving over if you ask me.

So why was Reed going 3 seconds a lap slower than practice in 11th place instead of trying to get to the front in a race he HAD to podium to stay in the series? You mean that, since last year, Reed has lost so much speed that he can't make one pass of a one-armed rider in 5 laps?

Whatever. Stewart did something stupid in the heat race, Reed did something inexplicable in the main, and they both paid a price. Move on. The only innocent party who really got screwed was Partridge.

James Stewart would not use the phrase "needless to say" and I think it's insulting when a PR agent writes this crap and tries to pass it off as Stewart's own writing.

PHOENIX SX: JAMES TALKS
Posted on 01/17/2010, 7:26 pm, by JS, under Blog, News.

By now most of you have likely seen, read, or heard about my chaotic night at round number two of the Supercross series in Phoenix. Nothing seemed to go my way last night, but at the end of it all, I chalk most of the events up to an unfortunate string of bad luck! Here’s my take…

After setting the fastest overall lap in qualifying, I went into the night program feeling pretty good. In what can only really be described as an unfortunate racing incident, however, I ended up hobbling off the track after getting landed on in my heat race. I was in pretty bad shape, but I tried my best to get back out there to race for as many points as possible in the main event. After a rough start, I found myself battling mid-pack, which ended in a pileup on lap five with Reed. The accident itself was a bummer, but while I was getting up, CR hit me in the back of my head. Needless to say, I was pretty dissatisfied with his decision to do so, especially given the fact that it’s not the first time this has happened.

From there, I simply rode my best to salvage as many points as possible, and then after the race went straight back to the pits to have a chat with Chad about the incident. To say that I was frustrated at this point would be a huge understatement, so I think it was for the best that Chad, nor anyone from his team, could be found at their truck.

I want to race. That’s why I’m here. So to consistently have to look over my shoulder every time CR gets close has gotten really old. From where I sit, it sure seems like he has repeatedly tried to take me out, which makes me question his agenda.

Thank you all for your loyal support, and I look forward to the championship battle that lies ahead.

- James

I'd like to hear what Travis Preston thinks of Stewart's latest moronic move. I'm sure he and Partridge could share a chuckle or two...

Dear Fucknuckle...

How much passing was going on right there... or the start of any Main for that matter... sometimes the race needs to shake out a bit... Laptimes in a pack of riders a lot of the times means fuckall, you still have to be able to pass...

Do you really think that was a takeout move...

Which fact do you want to dispute? That Stewart was going 3 seconds a lap slower than practice? That Reed was riding around in 11th place? That, due to his DNF last week, Reed needed a podium finish? That Stewart was hurt? Which one of those facts do you think is "stupid"?
